Question to anybody who knows more and has watched Fekir because i've never watched him play and on here everybody says he can play attacking midfield and on the wing. But can he play as a striker also?

Reason I ask is I have just realized that the formation we played with today - which was more of a 4231 with Bobby behind Solanke (they seemed to rotate) instead of the usual 433 - could that have been a test run to see how it works in the event we do sign Fekir?

Could he possibly do what bobby and Solanke did today, rotate between playing up top and just behind?

Even with the midfield 2, Gini was still able to play the b2b role and get forward which would be Keita's role whilst Hendo stayed deep.


I was surprises by the team selection today and the formation but it worked a treat and we could have easily scored another 4 more.

I really don't think klopp or any manager in our situation would do that would they?

In principle tho I like thee formation better. especially if firmino is to drop deeper my prreference that his starting position is no deeper than that attacking midfield spot.

I think the formation today was in response to us lacking central midfielders more than anything.

+1 Mikey: agree that it was due to squad situation and not tactical nous.
It’s easy to like this formation after a 4-0 win but I think we lose bite in midfield with just 2 in the middle. I think this formation can work against teams that look to park the bus, but may not work against teams that come at us.

Fair enough yeah it probably is just due to the lack of options we had lol
Would be a great formation for PTB teams anyhow, instead of 3 mid fielders have 4 attackers lol
