Afternoon Eds and Reds

In an attempt to distract myself from the upcoming games I've been having a little think about the summer and what we might see from the club in terms of incomings.

We all know the club are looking at a goalkeeper, midfielders, possibly a left back and maybe someone to rotate with our thrilling three up top.

There's plenty of options for all of those positions in my opinion and Klopp and the club need to just decide who their targets are and go after them with a list of backups if they aren't available.

Now, the one position that we also know they are going for is RB. Ed001 has been saying it all along and it's become more apparent with repeated injuries to Gomez (who is really a CB) and TAA still being young and likely to end up in midfield anyway.

I am really really struggling to think up any potential right backs that would 1) be a good signing for us, and 2) be available.

I have put a few below, but would love to hear who you guys (and Eds if possible) would expect Liverpool to be going after for the position this summer.

Sergi Roberto - Likely to be available at a pretty penny, but is he really a RB or a midfielder out of position?
Ricardo Pereira - Has been looked at and considered previously. Have the club moved on? Would be expensive and unlikely to be an option.
Sime Vrsaljko - Been looked at previously but I don't know if the club hold any interest. Would be decent but started out as a CB (I believe? ) and may not be able to play the attacking role Klopp wants.
Hector Bellerin - Very likely to leave Arsenal, good attacking player, very ropey defensively. Would be very surprised if he wanted Liverpool, seems to want a move back to Spain.
Djibril Sidibe - Good option, good going forward, not bad defensively but looks like United is his preferred option and they are keen.
Alvaro Odriozola - Probably available for the right price. Very attack minded, very young. Would he be a step up on TAA or Gomez? Possibly at best.
Mitchel Weiser - Just signed for Leverkusen.
Elseid Hysaj - Good player, been playing in a high energy system to ours, would he be available? Would he want to move? Could be expensive as Napoli won't want to lose him.
Nordi Mukiele - Seems to be a huge talent. Been watched by Spurs and Man City. He would likely want to be first choice as he has played nearly 40 games this season at only 20.


As you can see I am really struggling to find anyone suitable to come in in the RB position and of the ones I've mentioned I have no idea if they are a possibility in any way whatsoever.

So Eds and Reds, who would you like to see the club pursue for this position? And Eds (ignore if you've been asked too many times already) who do you see as a possibility for Liverpool at RB?

I sincerely believe from bottom of my heart. Once Keita, Ox and Lemar clicks into gear, Henderson or Milner will have no choice but play right back. And I believe also from bottom of my heart, they can do the job from there and do it very well.

I would renew our interest in Ricardo Periera. Has a release clause of 25 million I think and most importantly plays both RB and LB. Could save us money of having to buy a LB if Moreno goes, so we kill 2 birds with one stone.

Hysaj is who I would go for. Him, Keita, Fekir/ Lemar, Ceballos/ Meyer/ Jorginho/ Weigl and Reina would represent a fantastic transfer window. Might be a bit optimistic and expensive, but we need to push on from the foundations of making the CL final (win or lose) and go for the PL title.

Leverkusen have signed Mitchell Weiser which suggests to me that they are preparing to lose Benjamin Henrichs. He is a brilliant young right back and I'd be disappointed if we Don't at least consider him.

I’d be tempted to test Juventus’ resolve on keeping Mattel De Sciglio - can play both LB and RB.

{Ed002's Note - I cannot help you about Full Backs - you need Ed001 for that. I can say that there have been discussions about Benjamin Henrichs with a couple of sides. But this page is all fantasy football now and it doesn't involve Liverpool.}
