Good Morning redmen,

Hope you are all well and not complete nervous wrecks like I am!

Heres a little read to take your mind off the impending champs league game for a couple mins

The loan update.

Chirivella played the full 90 as Willem II beat PEC 1-0.
The result was special for 2 reasons, firstly Chirivella got his first assist of the season. Secondly the win all but secured their top flight status.
I read a discussion on here about the future of some of our youth players and for me Chirevella will be the man to break through next season. He has spent the season playing as a DM and has been our standout loanee this season, an ever-present in their side.
There will be a lot of changes to our midfield over the summer and I think Chirvella will benefit from this.

Grujic had a game to forget at the weekend as Cardiff beat Hull 2-0.
Grujic started on the bench but came on after 10 minutes due to an injury. However after a poor 35 minutes he was then subbed back off at half time! I think that might be his last game in a Cardiff shirt.

On the opposing side to Cardiff was Harry Wilson in the Hull attack.
Wilson had a quiet game but did complete the full 90.

Anything Grujic can do Flannagan can do better! Flannagan started Boltons crucial relegation match v Burton but at 2-0 down at half time and playing a part in both goals Flannagan was also subbed off at half time!

Ejaria returned to the starting line up for Sunderland and by all reports played well. However he was unable to prevent Sunderland throwing away a 1 goal lead to eventually lose 2-1 to Wolves.

Connor Randall started at right wing back and played the full 90 as Hearts lost 2-0 to Aberdeen.

Matty Virtue started again and played the full 90 in Nott's 2-1 loss to Grimsby.
The defeat ruled out automatic promotion and means Notts will be in the play offs at the end of the season.

Firth made his 11th and final appearance for Chester as they beat Barrow 2-1 in the fianl game of the season.
Although unable to help them avoid relegation Firth was almost an ever present in his loan spell and should have great experience to learn from.

Arroyo, the rock in the Mallorca B defence.
Since they signed him on loan in January they have gone on a 12 game unbeaten run, winning 11 and keeping 8 clean sheets.
At the weekend they beat Felanitx 1-0. However injury forced him off towards the end of the game, hopefully nothing to serious.

Origi made his first start in over a month as Wolfsburg lost 3-1 to Hamburg.
Reports say his performance was full of effort but lacking in quality.

Despite scoring last time out Markovic was back on the bench and only made a short cameo as Anderlecht beat Charleroi 3-1.

Keita and RBL had a weekend to forget as they lost 3-0 to relegation threatened Mainz.
To make matters worse Keita was sent off in the final minutes of the game, his fourth sending off this season!
RBL are now fighting to finish in the european spots with just a few games left in the season.

Sturridge, Ojo, Kent and Whelan were all unused this season whilst Awoniyi and Allan are out with injury.

Now for a nice boring 0-0 tomorrow night :)

Thanks for the update Carra.

One minor point is that Ejaria played against Fulham and not wolves. I was at the game.

He did have an alright game by all accounts. He played behind the striker (Fletcher) and did stand out as one of the best Sunderland players, which isn’t really saying much as Sunderland were completely dreadful.

What surprised me about the lad is he really is a big bloke. He was probably the tallest player on the pitch and did like to get stuck in a bit.

He had some moments of class, one in which he controlled a goal kick on the full beautifully, did a neat little turn beating the nearest defender, and then spanked a huge cross field pass perfectly to a teammate. However he also got a few simple things wrong and needlessly loss possession quite a bit.

I feel bad for the lad playing for a rubbish Sunderland team all year, hopefully his next loan is to a team that plays slightly more to his strengths (if he isn’t sold) .

Red Sandman.

Thanks Carra for all the effort you put in. Enjoy reading you’re loan updates. Interesting thoughts on Chirivella. Hope he can fulfil his potential as a future DM for the first team🤞.

I thought that Sunderland was a poor choice of clubs for Ejaria, they were always going to have problems, and he would have been better off going to a side much closer to the top four or six .

Not long ago Flanagan was the Next Cafu on this page. A good lesson learned. “ Stop overhyping players “.

Legend carra, favourite player, favourite poster.

Don't know if you can help carra but how is young gallagher, the lb from Falkirk, getting on. Does he look promising?
