Thinking about close season and player ins and outs, can't help but think of Origi. When he first arrived ithought . we had signed a player with real potential. Granted in some games he didn't perform but don't forget how young he was, now I have completely lost track of his progress.
I like Danny Ings a lot, I think he is a decent player and could have a good career ahead of him but I don't think he fits the JK criteria. I don't think that Solanke is fit either. So I am asking is Origi still viable or do we discard him when he returns from loan spell,

I feel sorry for Origi, I thought we had a good one there.

Unfortunately I don't think either of them are good enough. we need to sign a striker who is happy to play second fiddle to Bobby but still decent enough to play the football Klopp demands.

I think out of the strikers we have as back up Origi is the one who has proved to be the best asset specialy coming of the bench
Ings has that drive and will work very hard for the team and is a good finisher but doea not have the pace required to play back up to our front 3. May be it is not gis pace just match sharpness
Solanke is more of a target man and still very young so we will have to change the game plan for him slightly and will have to wait for him to come good
Where as Origi has already proved that he can take place of anyone in our front 3 has that pace, size and can finish too. He is very inconsistent but i feel he is the best out of these 3.

I remember Origi keeping Lukaku out of the Belgian team for a short while. He seems to have fizzled out this past year though.

Fully agree. I remember calling him the next "Drogba" after that hat-trick he scored against Southamption, a couple of years ago. Full of power, pace and effectively holding up the ball really well. Sometimes they go by the way side. Just the way it is. But I believe it can be turned around. It's mostly about confidence. Takes a lot to get it, and it can be gone in an instant. Depends on him, Klopp and the coaching staff. The Origi of that time is better than the Ings and Solanke of today.

He hit the hurdle of bad injury. Lots of players will hit in and not everyone comes out the other side sadly.

I’d just point out that with the right service Ings looks pretty good. Although disallowed the ‘goal’ he put away yesterday was pretty smart. Just needs to play a bit.

He's having a shocker of a season btw,

I think he will get a decent shot in the pre-season as I agree he, out of our current crop of senior strikers (ie Ings, Solanke, Origi) has the best attributes to deputise for Firmino. Depends on whether he wants to be backup for now, getting maybe 10-20 games a season depending on injuries, suspensions and cup competitions.

The biggest threat to him in that backup position, imo, is Brewster. If Klopp deems him ready to join the first team squad, then he has the opportunity and age on his side as 10 games a season as a backup is probably a) all you need as a 17/ 18 year old and b) enough to keep him happy for a couple of seasons whilst he develops.

I would like to see more of Solanke to see what sort of player he could become. He doesn't seem to have the pace, which could hold him back in our current style of play?

Origi is the most proven of ALL our back up strikers and 22 goals in the two seasons he was with us, proves that. Origi has all the tools needed to be a good CF with pace, power, dribbling ability, aerial ability, etc. What he needed is games to put all this together cos we have seen what he can do when on form. However, he needs to be playing and he may or may not return to LFC cos he may not wanna be back up to Bobbie. We shall see.

Dont think that Origi is good enough for us, he is having a bad time over in Germany, getting subbed, not scoring, playing badly,
if he wasnt our player, would we look to sign him?

Happy, you cannot compare the the level of players he has around him at Wolfsburg (where they are a basket case and have their 3 manager this season alone) with those he had at LFC when he was banging them in. I would know as I watch Wolfsburg and RBL (for Naby) a lot this season. Context is needed here, IMO.
