Last week I watched Barcelona play Sevilla. At times, the interplay between Messi, Suarez and Iniesta was simply breathtaking. Last night I watched Sadio, Bobby and Mo doing the same, it was every bit as good. For 15 minutes during that game, it was up there with the best football I have ever seen. And every other player in the team played their part. Don't know if we'll win the CL but it is a privilege to support LFC to see moments like that. YNWA.

If we can produce the same 70/ 75 mins in the second leg and actually shut up shop in the last 15/ 20 we will go through and could easily win it if we can produce again in the final. I’m not scared of any of the teams left after the city results.

Not to be smart, litmanenfav but those same players were knocked out by Roma who needed to close a 3 goal deficit. We have to be better then them.

It's different tho. Messi and co will Bob and weave arround their opponents whereas we'll be landing haaymakers knocking our opponent to the floor. Both effective but very different. Anyone watch Barcelona vs Roma 1st leg? Has to have been the most underserved 4-1 scoreline ever! This is complete different and we should be confident heading to 2nd leg.

I think the psychological aspect is vastly different between us and Barcelona, as we face Roma next week. Barcelona is a team made up of veterans that have been at the highest level for quite some time now. They've won all the prizes, broken the records (or whatever) and many will argue is now an ageing team that needs serious "refreshing". Yes, they're true professionals, but clearly they're not able to get themselves "up" for a match, as they did before. I'd say this team is probably beginning to stagnate. We're the complete opposite. The youngest team in the EPL (average age of 25.1 years), full of hunger and finally with some really, and undeniably, stellar players, one of whom is clearly world class at the moment. We play a very attractive fast flowing football. We have a manager who is more than capable, and definitely has a lot to prove ("he hasn't won anything in a long time") . And we have a fear factor in our favor. The all conquering ManC were supposed to mow us down for the second leg. Nothing remotely close happened, and we actually won that game too. And we'll do the same with Roma. Maybe not win, but get a goal or two to deflate their players enough into capitulating.

Bang on, Ra1969. Great post. The Barcelona team that lost to Roma, almost lost to Chelsea who are a shambles so it IS true that they can't get up for some games as they used to and that showed in the game vs Roma where they decided to just try to tiki-taka and possess their way out of a game they seemed not interested to compete in. Roma went for the kill cos they smelt blood. We are NOT that Barcelona team and we are arguably better in most areas esp. in terms of hunger, youth, energy, bravery and supreme talent on the pich and in the dug out. Barcelona tried to sit on their lead. Klopp will NOT be doing that and will impose a tempo that clearly, Roma cannot contend with. This tie is up to us and ONLY up to us.
