I understand a lot of people think Harry wilson is not ready to play for the reds in the prem league.

My question is what should he be looking to achieve to be in consideration to play a squad role for liverpool next season?

Hes had another great game against Bristol.

So happy for Salah winning the player of the year!

He needs to do his defensive work. It’s okay everyone coming here saying he’s scored two more got an assist etc but that’s no longer in question with him. He needs to prove he will track runners, he needs to prove he knows when to press, he needs to prove he can cope physically. They are the only question marks over him. I’d like to see people coming here with harry Wilson made 5 successful tackles and 3 interceptions at the weekend! The only games I’ve seen him play (some of the televised ones) he wasn’t doing it but that’s why he’s there he’s got to learn it.

Only thing he can do now is take his chance if and when it comes!

Jezza - that's the sort of thing that he needs to be playing with LFC and getting chances to learn though. Almost every club we can loan him to will keep a winger like him on the shoulder of the opposition defense and try and set him off past them, they won't want him tracking back because he's their biggest threat. Even if he's not ready for us, we need to make the sacrifice (where we can do so without damage) to take him to the next level.

He will get a chance to prove himself in pre season. just keep on doing what he is doing now.

Re defensive work I believe that is harsh as I have seen him a number of times do a ala Firmino and tackle someone after working back and starting a counter!

It’s just seeing if he can take the next step! But again no rush he is very young still worst case another Loan to top championship or lower prem.

I'd like him regularly on the bench next season with starts in the cup games. It's now or never for him.

Wow he's just turned 21. Hmmmm I hope he stays signed up with us and then gets another season long loan deal. Could be that he isn't really ready for first team until he is about 23. Can we / he be patient enough?

Patience is the key, the question is does the player have that patience as well?

It's all good and well as LFC fans that we want to keep him on the bench to rest the front 3 occasionally but the player may want to play a lot more than the occasional start and the last 5 minutes of games.

The experience he getting is also of a much much lower level. He will need to do it in the PL. Thomas Ince has always, i repeat always been of the best players in the Championship for years but failed time and time again to prove it in the PL and the examples are many.

So we need to have the patience to let him go on another loan to the PL to develop more. To get more relevant experience and to start many more games once he is ready because i can't see us holding on to Salah more than next season no matter what we win or don't win.

Salah doesn’t track his runners which is fine for Klopp as long as he keeps banging in with goals! Are there any more cheap excuses against the youngster Jezza!
Wilson is a true talent and not like other overhyped New kids around! Why he is scoring goals! I am fine if Wilson scores 20 goals for us and doesn’t put in a tackle!

I'd be happy to see him used in cup games and for rotation, but for him personally I think another year of starting games in the championship or with a lower side in the PL would do him much better in the long run than sitting on the bench.

Commuter, Salah makes lung busting runs back to stop or intercept runners. He defends incredibly hard.

Watch highlight real of 1st leg vs city and you can see in the sane missed shot how he came running back to close him down.

Wilson is doing himself no harm at all. The boy has goals in him and is showing a degree of consistency in performance. See how he goes in pre season and if he is still on the fringes we can loan him to a premier league side which will make or break him. Not sure how lONG He has left on his Liverpool contract though. Personally I think he will end up a success at Liverpool.

Wilson signed a new long term contract before he went on loan to Hull.
For all this talk of Wilson breaking into the first team, let's not forget Woodburn though, who I think is ahead in the pecking order atm. However the pre-season will show if this is still true.
