Be interesting to see the starting line up 2moro. Unfortunately we are getting injuries at the wrong time, still believe we can cope tho.

Wrap Salah up in cotton wool, bring in maybe Clyne and Ings/ Solanke and fingers crossed we can get the job done then look to city on Tue.

I'd rest Salah tomorrow. Bring in Ings for a full 90 mins or at least 60, every time he comes on for the last 10 mins or so he comes close to scoring every time, he needs more minutes and this is his chance imo. Solanke doesn't cut it for me, he never has and I doubt he ever will. He's still young so has time but can you really see him making it? I can't.

I think we'll win tomorrow but the hype makes it difficult, always. I 'm always saying how we can beat any team on our day and how I wasn't nervous about playing City the other day etc but games like this do make me nervous. We're by far the better team but it's just one of them games and we need to win it. We have injuries at the wrong time but that's just excuses. We have to just get on with it and keep our form going!

We'll be celebrating a win tomorrow though so it's no problem.

I think solanke will start against Everton. You're writing him off too soon. He has a lot of ability and I think he can be perfect back up to bobby he just needs a goal and some confidence IMO.

Apparently Salah and Can are definitely out of tomorrow's game. The biggest one for me tomorrow is that Klopp doesn't rest Karius and bring Mignolet back in as that could be a recipe for distaster. I think Clyne and Moreno will start with Hendo, Lallana (if fit) and wjnaldum in midfield. Up top then Ings, Solanke and Mane. Clyne and Lallana desperately need match fitness so why not throw them straight in. Starting a game is a lot easier than trying to get up to speed as a substitute and if they blow out then you can bring them off. We never know what might happen from now until tue and the luck we're having we might actually need them.

Karius doesn't need a rest. He was having a picnic in the goalmouth last game.

Redwillis, maybe I am writing him off too soon mate but I don't think I am. You said it yourself, he needs a goal, when is that going to be? how long do we have to wait? He's not good enough for Liverpool. A back up to Firmino, Solanke is not that. If god forbid Firmino got injured, you'd be happy with Solanke filling his spot until fit again? I sure wouldn't, he's nowhere near ready for that. I do hope in the future he will be I just can't see it.

I hope tomorrow not to see mane salah or firminho anywhere near the starting 11
Woodburn Solanke and Ings will do me for the derby with the three amigos rested
Solanke is too young to be written off but I agree I would not be happy to see him replace firminho for any long period of time not yet anyway.

Salah the lads 19. he's looked decent enough and has came close and been unlucky numerous times to scoring. Give him time and support i think there is a good player there.

06 Apr 2018 12:37:32
Decent enough? when? Coming close doesn't cut it, 19 or not, he has no potential for our starting 11. It's nothing to do with luck, he has shown no signs of improvement since joining. Please believe when I say I am in no way blasting the lad, I just see nothing from him now or in the future, I hope more then anybody I'm completely wrong.

{Ed001's Note - he is 19 and has had little in the way of opportunity to show any improvement. How on earth you can judge a kid on a few fleeting appearances is beyond me. This is why youngsters fail so often at Liverpool, these kind of stupid knee jerk reactions to their development plague them.}

RE:solanke, we need to be patient for potentially the next 3 - 5 years. lots of liverpool fans aren't patient for 90 minutes hahaha.

Fair enough Ed1, you know 100 x more them me mate and I can't argue against you but 1 goal in 24 appearances is nowhere near good enough for Liverpool, yes he is young and I say again, I hope I'm wrong with my judgement but can you really see him making it? It's too early to tell of course and maybe I am been harsh on the lad but I would put my mortgage on it that come a few years from now he's still not at the level we require.

I'm all for giving youngsters their time, they need time to develop, I'm not daft but for some it just doesn't work out and it has shown with Solanke. Sure with more game time he could end up to be the next huge thing, who really knows, we dont, we never will because how can he be put ahead of the players we have? he can't. He can't score, I'd prefer Origi and he's only 2 years older.

Origi scored what was it, 12 goals in 50 or so appearances? not great but certainly better then Solanke and it's looking likely like he's off. I know this has no relevance to Solanke at all but it's just my point, point is, Solanke in his time he's had which granted isn't alot, he should be doing more. As a striker that's his job and he's failing, 20 years old or not, he's not doing enough and I can't see him ever doing enough, isn't it at this stage where he should be impressing? where he should be saying 'this is why I should be picked for the starting 11, look what I'm capable of' he's not doing that and at that age it shows lack of ambition and motivation.

{Ed001's Note - you can't judge a kid like that. Every kid is different. Some come in and blitz things, others struggle early and learn from it and become great players. Others still never amount to anything. The lad has talent and the time to judge him is in a few year's.}

I would go for 4-1-2-1-2 with solanke and ings up top, Lallana on the left, Ox on the right Wijnaldum in CAM and Henderson in the deep role. I would also play Moreno and clyne and keep Van Dijk and Lovren as they need to continue their partnership which is clearly the best pairing we have, obviously keep Karius in goal as there is no need to play.

12.) 06 Apr 2018
06 Apr 2018 16:53:02
Is Lallana even fit? Couple of people consider him to start tommorow. And of my knowladge he is off and may be off the season? Did I miss something?

{Ed001's Note - I am 99% sure he is done for the season.}

Solanke will come good, I'm sure. Maybe not quite good enough for a regular starting spot but good enough for backup, certainly. He's mainly been playing when teams are trying to fight back against us and we're mainly on the back foot. He harries and chases around all over the place. He's got a good touch, scores goals at the levels he's played at and is confident in his ability. If, say, Firmino was on the bench or injured for a game and he played alongside Salah and Mane, I'm pretty sure he'd get more chances than he has had to score. He's only started games with a second fiddle attack so he needs more chances, more time and backing!

Correct. Let’s stop buying kids! Are we short of kids in our academy that we are landing it from Brazil, Serbia and Chelsea? What’s happening with Allan? Can’t blame the fans when it doesn’t work! We are certainly in a position to bring in finished goods rather than “ Young potential “

How on earth would Solanke fit under Klopp system, Can someone explain to me that? We don’t play anyone similar to his style ( if we were Ings wouldn’t be struggling for minutes ) and over the top we bought another Central striker when we don’t play with one in the first place!

Salah, it's not about someone knowing better than you or me. The fact is that you simply cannot judge a player fully regardless of age, based on him making cameo appearances. Football does not work that way. Look at Karius, for example. He had about 18/ 20 games here and there or so before being made the permanent starter and even that amount of games was not enuff to judge him. Now, we are seeing the results of giving him a full go with him knowing it's up to him to pass or fail on HIS own merits. Solanke needs to be playing longer in games consistently to be fully judged and as someone once said, if you do not give a young player a full go of games, you don't deserve the player you want him to be. It's that simple.

Agree with Baby Driver on Solanke. He made the wrong move to LFC, he is no better off here than at Chelsea.
He’ll never be quick enough to get a regualr place in our team and he won’t reach his potential without regular football.

Think both Solanke and Ings have been a little unlucky with their finishing. I believe Solanke needs one to go in off his backside and it will be a weight off his shoulders. He’s a young lad with plenty of ability so let’s see. Harry Kane was written off at that age remember.

As for the keeping situation, stick with Karius the last thing we need it another Migs horror show and the more games Karius plays the better he seems to get.

Looking forward to the game!

{Ed025's Note - solanke and ings have been anything but unlucky redroon, they are championship players at a top premiership club...that makes them very lucky mate..

Wellredknuckledragger - I agree with the majority of your post but could you please confirm what you mean when you say 'He's got a good touch, scores goals at the levels he's played at and is confident in his ability'? Am I missing something? seriously this is no dig but 1 goal in 24 appearances? and he's scoring goals? come on man.

Harry said this a while ago about Solanke and I was trying not to agree but I can't help it, it's the truth in my opinion. I understand what people are saying by saying he needs more time and all and I completely agree but more time will only be a waste of his time and a waste of Liverpool's time because he will not come good. He's not fighting hard enough for a place in Liverpools starting lineup which is why we aren't seeing the lad start, at that age he should be doing everything in his power to impress, he's not doing that.

I'd like to see him go out on loan where he can get proper game time and see what he's capable of, because right now he's far off been ready for Liverpool, whichever way you want to look at it.

Ok, not scored at senior level but got the winner for England U21's the other day and was top scorer in the tourney in the summer. Has scored a few at U23's. I know its different but its not like he's without talent. He just hasn't had the rub of the green in the games he's been involved in and who he's been playing with. None of our top 3 are same without the others around them is my point. Every time he gets on the pitch he works his socks off and it not like he's had many (if any) clear cut chances. I just think if we sign any competition for the others they're going to be pretty disappointed pretty soon. At least at his age he shouldn't expect to start lots of games. I do agree that a loan may be good but then we're left with the same predicament of who to back up with. I suppose Brewster maybe?
