Whilst I believe we can beat anyone on our day, I can't help but watch Madrid and Bayern and think we are way off that level. I know we can beta city just don't think we will. Just have too many weak points and you can win the CL by out firing your opposition. You need the whole package and we don't yet. Im not all doom and gloom, and think we're on the up, just I don't hold much hope for the CL.

Sevilla don’t look too bad either.

Im sure people said the same the last time we won the CL, have faith LFC over two legs is a dangerous animal and no team in the world will want to face our front three.

Yes we aren't at that level yet, anyone who think otherwise is deluding themselves. There are 3/ 4 teams who are a level above everybody else in Europe, Real, Bayern and Barcelona consistently get to the Champions League semi finals and I think that Man City have reached that level too. However we are still in the competition and can beat anyone on our day, let's just enjoy still being in the competition and see where it takes us, the chances of us winning the Champions League are slim but you never know.

I watched both games today. Im not arguing LFC is better than the likes of Bayern, Real, Barca, etc. But by no means should the team be frightened of playing any of them. They are more than a match, and our style of play would give all of them fits. Win lose or draw with City and I will savor every minute. You all realize it has been ten years since we have been here. Not to mention history is with us against City.

Do you realise we won the Champions League with Milan Baros as our centre forward?

I see what you’re saying firmane, I feel the main difference for me is in midfield. We don’t have any players in our current crop that can do consistent damage to opponents and intimidate them (In a football sense) . Just looking at citys, Madrid’s and Bayern’s midfield you know they can dominate ours, but I’m sure some of them would love our front 3 😉
On our day we can beat anyone but as this season has proved, it isn’t always our day. let's hope it is tomorrow and the crowd help to make it electric!

I honestly think we would be more than a match for anyone left in the competition. The only times we have lost to any team who properly came at us in the last two years were City when Mane got sent off and Tottenham when Lovren lost his head. No team bar Juve would sit and play on the counter and that would play into our hands I think. In fact, Man City were the only team I didn't want to get and we've beat them this season already.

I didn't see Bayern, but Madrid were ok, no great shakes. They got an early goal, Ronaldo scored a wonder goal then Dybala got sent off and the contest was over. Juve were rubbish before he got sent off anyway, it's not like Madrid were top of the pops tonight.

We're not far off, I don't think. It's always difficult with hypothetical scenarios but if you put us in La Liga or the Bundesliga, I think we'd give them a pretty good run for their money.
