Seeing Van Dijk being named the captain of Netherlands, does this in any way make him closer to taking over the captaincy at the club?

Why would being made captain of his national team, make him any closer to club captain? Henderson is the perfect captain you need he listens he is a model pro nothing negative is hardly spoke about his private life sure he leaves you wanting more on the field but at the number 6 position he is the best we have until Klopp deems it necessary to replace him.

I wouldn't change the captaincy at the moment but i think its o ly a matter of. time. before VVD gets it. Hendo will be phased out of the team in the next year but he just isn't good enough to start on any team that is looking to win the title.

Im convinced we would've won the league in 2013/ 14 if he was on the team sheet for the games he missed after he got sent off against city.

Fully agree with RedJim. And many others said it at the time. That midfield of Gerrard, Henderson and Lucas (with Coutinho as AM/ LW) was so good, in hindsight.

It’s hendos until he leaves or drops out the first team permanently for me.

We lost the league as a team against Chelsea and Palace. Suarez was world class at the time, Sturridge having his best ever season, Sterling was firing for us, Chelsea Parked a bus, Stevie G had a 1 in a lifetime freek slip and our dodgy defence and keeper conceded 3 goals in 11 minutes. How exactly would have Henderson on his own have changed any of the above and won us a league title that we haven't been able to clinch for 28 years, of which 7 of them Hendo hasn't clinched us a league title either.

Because Hendo was integral to how we played.
His suspension after the City home game (brought about by a foul in our defensive 3rd after PC gave the ball away) cost us dearly.

The league wasn't lost in those 2 games at all, the league was lost from games earlier in the season and Rodgers ineput to change things quick enough not as you state against palace and Chelsea or even Gerard's slip. If I remember rightly ed01 is of this opinion aswell!

Hendo's Bro is spot on. If any one things we lost the PL in that season in just two goals then they have a very myopic view of watching football. There were a lot of things that stopped us winning the PL that season and NO, Hendo's suspension was not one of them.

Our defence was woeful all season to the point of PURE comedy. Migs tho in his first season, was a liability as well in many games BUT cos we outscored the opposition most times, it was swept under the cracks. I remember many on here including Ed01, screaming for BR to stop hyping himself up in the media and focus on getting the defence sorted and getting someone in to help SG in the #6 position cos the defence had NO protection. What happened? BR did nothing but continue to talk crap in the media and hype himself up like the incompetent gas bag he was, blowing smoke up everyone's arse.

Even after the slip, we had a 3 goal lead vs CP and stupidly and arrogantly, BR said we should try to erase City's good (+7 at the time) . What type of arrogant manager acts that way esp. knowing City had a game in hand on us? These are the things that lost us the PL. Not a slip or suspension late in the season. That is just a cop out for those who don't want to face the reality of that season.
