As great as we are going forward. I'm really not sure that our defence will be able to cope with likes of Messi etc.

Haven't watched the match, but I gather from reports Barcelona haven't been special and have just picked off Chelsea defensive errors.

So, since we don't make defensive errors we should be fi- oh no, wait. That doesn't work.

I reckon city have got as much attacking flair as barcalona and we coped with them at anfeild until we slackened off the last 10 mins. i think barcalona would be wondering if they could cope with our attacking players just an opinion.

Messi etc? As far as I could tell over two legs against Chelsea attacking wise it was Messi and no one else.

Was speaking hypothetically Smeg, I refer to Messi but there are so many other good players left in the competition . We’ve made great progress but still have that defensive fragility in us, from the midfield to the back 4. We should have lost 3-0 to a poor united team, Mata left all on his own with Lovren an VVD just stood their watching him.

Drogie - Mata had to score an overhead bicycle kick, that's hardly something he 'should' have scored. And if we're going on 'should' - United 'should' have been 10 men from the first half. We 'should' have had at least one, probably two, penalties. 'Should' doesn't matter, what matters is what happened and what happened is that we just lost 2-1 in Old Trafford, having only lost two games in the last 27 including matches against Chelsea, Arsenal, City, Moscow, Seville, Spurs and Porto. Get it together lad, it was one game in a long old season.
