To Ed1, you called me out in a post earlier and you were right to do so, it was petty and snide dig, I am sorry. There are lots of things they I disagree with on this site but the way to express that if by reasoned debate and not disparaging the people with a different view. I fell short of my own standards this afternoon and I thank you for pointing that out.

For the record I think you're wrong about Clyne, I think he's been a valuable part of our team and I get frustrated when someone who's worked so hard for Liverpool is treated disrespectfully. However, it is hypocritical of me to expect others to be more respectful whilst I'm being disrespectful myself, I will do better going forward.

{Ed001's Note - trust me, his attitude stinks off the pitch and that is why I don't believe he deserves respect. He has not earnt it.}

{Ed001's Note - good point, apologies Putney I should have congratulated you for that as well.}

If Ed says his attitude is bad, I believe him and that's a worry but I agree with PR, I think he has been quite solid for us, although I didn't watch every game last season. I quite like him going forward, he reminds me of Hendo in that he keeps the ball well and can do so under pressure. He knows the Rb role pretty well and I think he does the basics well. People may disagree but you don't play for England if you can't do the basics. He is miles behind walker though imo. I prefer taa and gomez and wouldn't be gutted if he left, wouldn't be gutted if he stays. Attitude has to change though. What has been behaving poorly about?

{Ed001's Note - he is a billy big spuds, from the moment he got the move.}

Attitude aside he is NOT good going forward, as soon as he comes up against the opposition fb he turns back and passes. He rarely puts in a decent cross and rarely runs beyond the last defender.

With regards to his defensive qualities, he is constantly ball watching or woefully out of position when they attack. He makes up for his lack of footballing ability with athleticism. This is not a new thing, he has been like this since he joined and not improved on any way.

I understand football is about opinions and i get why his activity on field has been misconstrued for quality but he is lacking in that respect.

I would be gutted if taa lost his place to clyne but would understand if he was kept for rotation.

'People may disagree but you don't play for England if you can't do the basics'

Have you seen how rubbish the England team is mate? When Clyne was part of it, he just blended in to an already poor team. England is a team I will never watch due to how poor they are, I'd rather watch grass grow. A bunch of overpaid, lazy, big headed fools who aren't interested in playing for their country, there's no passion there and that's exactly how I see Clyne with Liverpool, he is not part of the plans he couldn't care less about us as a club.

Clyne can't do the basics, not for us he cant, for a Villa side maybe but not Liverpool. I personally would be gutted if he stayed as there's no place for him here especially with that big head of his. Fingers crossed he's gone in the summer.

I actually think going forward was his weakest attribute.
He's got bags of energy but I rarely saw him whip in a decent cross like TAA.
My memories of him are marauding forward but then passing the ball backwards!
