Not exactly Liverpool related but i'm sure i'll find a link somehow.

I've been watching Son at Spurs more closely recently and I must say for me he is their 3rd best player (top 2 being Kane and Alderweireld) .

I know there were rumours of Livepool being interested in him before he joined Spurs and I was just wondering how genuine that interest was?

For me he would be the perfect player for us right now, high energy, great on the ball with good drive and he rarely let's his head drop (when he came on against Newport he changed the game, not a mean feat for a millionaire footballer playing on a rugby pitch against people trying to boot him off the pitch) .

So yeah, Eds if you get a chance I would love to know if Liverpool were interested in him at one stage and more than that your opinion of him as a player now.

Cheers all. Thanks for all the hard work over the transfer window as well, much appreciated.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool had a lot of interest in Heung Min Son over a prolonged period when he was at Bayer Leverkusen - as did Spurs and CSKA Moscow. Liverpool rekindled interest as an alternative to Vietto when he was at Villareal. Brendan Rodgers opted for Firminl instead.}

Son and Firmino are such different players.

''Twas a good day when Brendan chose Firmino shiny teeth.

Do you think Son could be turned into the hard working number 9 tracking back and putting himself about like Firmino if we went for him instead? I personally think he could, he seems so versatile.

I would take Son any day. Brilliant player.

The fact that they are such different players is probably why BR chose to pursue Firmino instead.

he may have chosen him but he didn't have a clue what to do with him, thank god klopp came and put that right, for a so called false 9 he has a goals / assists recored most strikers would love to have.

Didn't bayern want a lot more than was offered and were pretty much unwilling to sell so firmino was actually second choice, then bayern changed there time later on the window?

{Ed002's Note - Son was sold for a lot less than Firmino (even without the add ons).}

Good player, I just worry he’s an MOTD player. Don’t know how much he does when he’s not scoring or when he’s starting.
Good super-sub though.

Son would walk into any of the top teams, qualateee. But we got Bobby who's even better.

He is super selfish. Tend to miss easy chance and score the spectacular which is similar to Firmino. But he lacks the vision of Firmino but make up for it with his speed (Which will wane in due time) . Don't see him playing competitively for top club beyond 28 years old.
