Danny Ings loan or cup game's?

Just sell. He is 4th choice. 5th if Origi comes back. Let him rescue his career in my opinion.

Tough call mate, we might be a bit light if he's left go - depends on other movement. Hope he gets games either way, he's such a fine young player but so unlucky with those injuries! Man, he could have been our new Kuyt if he avoided them or maybe even better.

Have to disagree MK, think studge is likely to go (either this window or the next) so him and solanke as back up to Bobby. Doubt Origi will come back either so keep him for next season. Ings coming on for bobby with 15/ 20 mins to go will give defenders nightmares.

I also think Sturridge will leave, but he is third choice so i am not worried.

Firmino is clearly first choice, Solanke is the cover. People seem to disregard Solanke just because he hasn't started lashing goals in from the off. He has a big impact on games when he gets enough time to do so. Even if it is simply by winning the ball back in the final third, creating a goal for someone else, or holding up the ball so offers can get forward. He's a great young forward and if we continue to give him games, we will reap the rewards.

I'd rather the third choice central option was someone like Brewster or Millar. They'll rarely play anyway. Maybe 200 minutes a season? So why not just get one of the young lads involved, instead of paying a squad player £50-150k to sit in the stands most weeks?

Just my opinion though lads. We've done well to get Solanke. It will be criminal of we drop him to third or fourth choice where he will never get the chance to develop. Lest we forget that Harry Kane was once the understudy to Adebayor, and wasn't even highly rated. He got a chance in cup games though and at 21 he just started scoring for fun. Solanke has the potential to be a very good striker, but he needs games. Top scorer and player of the tournament at the U20's world cup, nominated for the European Golden boy award etc. Everyone on here is quick to bang on about "patience" with a young defender or a young goalkeeper etc. So surely the same applies to a young striker?

Ings and Sturridge should be sold for everyone's benefit. Saves us £10m a year in wages, grants Solanke more game time, and they get to reboot their faltering careers. Win, win, win.

It pretty much looks like Ings does not have a future at Anfield. Injuries go the better of him. Look at Sturridge, made of glass. Sturridge never be the same again.

Best to move them on. Sad but true.

{Ed025's Note - i have to agree max..

There's absolutely nothing to suggest that Ings Liverpool career is over Max so I have to also diagrree with you there. He as a awful lot to offer when he get's back to full fitness.

If he works as hard as he has done in the past, his career is far from over with us.
Solanke is promising for sure, I just wish he used his physicality more at times, worked a bit harder like Suarez/ Ings/ Firmino do, the goals will come when they're ready.

He sometimes looks like he has switched off when we don't have the ball, needs to learn to always be on his bike as such, find space, track back, just not stand still unless he just sprinted the length of the pitch a few moments earlier.

Ings is too good to sell.

I just hope those injuries haven't affected him too much.

Exactly Davey!
He deserves to be given some time, he's only 25 if I'm not mistaken, so can still make a solid career with us.

If he had scored when he came on late against Everton the other week in the draw, he'd have been featured in more games since, I'm sure about that - football is all about luck sometimes, both individually and as a team, right place, right time etc.

I'm also sure that genuine LFC fans will be keeping their fingers crossed for him and genuine football fans generally after what he has been through.

Have to disagree with you mk also. Behind firmino Ings is our next best striker. Sturridge doesn’t seem to suit our style and has lost something, hopefully he can get his career back on track somewhere else as I like the lad and want to see him play regularly. Origi I don’t think suits us either. Solanke is unproven and needs easing in, I think to much pressure will ruin him. And then we have Ings who was breaking into the England team before his injury, he’s proven in the premiership at Burnley. His work ethic is equal to firmino although his skill level isn’t however I’d say he’s more of a natural finisher.

{Ed025's Note - i dont get this love for ings all of a sudden hes not getting near the first team anytime soon, hes a stopgap, a player who will get on the bench if you have a massive injury problem and nothing more, harsh i know but true..

It's just he's had a really crap time of it and most of us would like to see him given a chance.

I would rather see Studge go before Ings but that purely because I haven’t seen enough of Ings to judge him, Sturridge on the other hand is past it, it’s so hard to watch him as he was brilliant a few years ago, his body just isn’t up to it.

His work rate is unbelievable and that for me puts him in a higher category of player, it also suits Klopp's tactics. Kuyt was hardly world class but when for, he played in our side.
He was part of arguably our strongest side for years between 2006 and 2009, we should have won the Champions League final in '07, fantastic squad we had then. Ah the memories lol.

I think we should keep him and let him build his fitness with a view to next season. He’s had horrible luck. If, come August he’s not back to himself then sadly time to sell him.

Don't agree with you on Solanke Adam - he has been given a fair number of starts and sub appearances and thus far has flattered to deceive. He has scored no goals, has not looked that effective linking up with team mates, has not really stood out for either his pace or skill or strength or anything - sure give the lad a chance, give him time to develop, but if Firmino gets injured is he the player we are relying on to pick up the slack? Sorry but not sure he is good enough right now and it remains to be seen if he will become good enough, I'm not that convinced by him.

Find him a good PL loan with a team like Huddersfield or Brighton who are extremely light on options up front to guarentee hium plenty of time of the field. assess hom on whether he still has whatever it is that we wanted from him when we decided to buy him. If he does, assess whether we still actually need that in the squad. if not, sell. if he doesnt, sell.
