to be honest tho, I would have said at the start of the season that we will be battling for 4th with spurs and arse. that's not to diminish our squad, just seemed realistic. but yes there is a gap between us and the cream of the crop, tho we really aren't that far away.

We have rectified a massive weakness from last season year in that we don’t need Mane playing every game to pose a big foward threat. Now we need to address other weaknesses, GK, CB and CDM. Potentially a Couts replacement to play at CAM with his ability to dribble and pick a pass rather than his long range shooting. Forgive the FIFA position names! Easiest way to get across what I mean!

Aggerdo as for Jan TW, I would not get my hopes up if I were you as Jan is the worst time to buy player of good quality as no one will sell them to you. The VVD thing will play itself out and if we want a CB say Khoulibaly from Napoli, good luck w/ that as the Napoli owner is a head case when it comes to transfers for his players. This does not mean Klopp won't ry as we know he will BUT don't get too hung up on that as even we will NOT be selling Cou in Jan either so why should other teams sell us their best players midseason?

Right now I'd say it's about 70/ 30 that we come top 4, basically we don't need signings but one wouldn't be unwelcome. I don't see us buying a new keeper this winter but I think a new CB, if the right one was available, should be bought.

Am I the only one praying everyday we don't sign VVD? Its a waste of 70 million pounds imo and our club has thrown enough money down the drain in recent years as it is.
And drop the top4 talk. We need to be fighting for the league title and UCL every season. Its the lack of this competitiveness that Coutinho wants out and Salah will likely follow.

As I see it, our defensive issues are the only reason why we are not challenging for major honours. WE have made progress, we have a good squad and with a few quality additions (not expensive may I add like VVD who is bang average) we will be fighting on all fronts.
I never talked about spending money we don't have. I just want the right players bought in even if they cost peanuts. Imo we are a CB, CDM, Coutinho replacement, Karius is goal and a Keita away from going toe to toe with Man City. Trust me, we are not that far off.
Hell, we could get all that done from the sale of Coutinho and a few fringe players like Sturridge, Origi, Clyne, Kent etc.

Drop this top 4 talk? Really? Have you forgotten where BR left us? Have you forgotten how hard it was to make top 4 last season? "We should be fighting for the PL". Against who? City and Utd? Do you have 300m to drop every summer like City or to a lesser extent Utd do?

We are being destroyed by 2-3 teams who are outspending us 2 or even 3 to 1 (City) so except you want us to emulate City and send us into administration, top 4 is all we got until we have the squad to go after them. City and Chelsea are ahead of everyone at the moment in my opinion and the main reason is the amount of money they can spend in one go. They will have their “transition seasons” and very very occasionally these transition seasons will happen together.
We have to make sure when they do happen together that we capitalise, like Leicester did.
We are not in a position to go toe to toe with them, if they’re on form, they win.
