Morning Everyone and Happy Friday!

Ed001 Just watching the season review of 87/ 88.

Just sitting here remembering the good old days.

And it got me thinking if John Barnes was playing today in his prime as he was for say three seasons up until 1990/ 91.

1) Would he have been good enough to play for any of the top sides in Europe?

2) And what would have been his value in to today's market?

Just watching him down that left wing, his skill, the way he could get to the byline and whip a ball in is something we, right now are crying out for!

Just a light hearted post to take us away from the same questions being asked over and over again.

Cheers Danny.

{Ed001's Note - 1. Yes. 2. No idea. I doubt anyone could afford to buy him.}

If Digger was playing today he would be up there in the Messi, Suarez, Ronaldo bracket, a truly phenomenal player!

{Ed025's Note - he was good scarface...but lets not go over the top mate..

So true Ed001.

Just his turn of pace was crazy, I mean it looked like he wasn't running particularly fast but he was.

For me, I dunno we paid was it £800.000? in 87 and he had everything you would dream of in a left winger, so his price today for me would have been close to the 100 million mark!

I'm just thinking is there anyone like John Barnes in today's game?

Cheers Danny.

{Ed001's Note - no one really mate. The game has changed a lot, there are very few wingers left.}

I met him in Dubai and he seems a very nice man. He is up there with Kenny!
