Hello ed001 good morning to you what do you make of daniel sturridges remarks about where he plays and saying he is taking one for the team. Just wanted your opinion on it as I think all is not well there just seams strange thing to say

to clear things up, here's the direct quote

i wish people would not read just the headline which is designed to sensationalise what is perfectly reasonable answer to a loaded question.

i don't really think he is being used as a winger. klopp himself has responded to this, and i agree with klopp on this.

he is placed on the right mainly when we don't have the ball to defend, but when we do, they are supposed to move around, not stick to 1 position. and klopp wants him in the box to finish, knowing that finishing is one of his best, if not the best ability.

many teams play with dynamic formations nowadays. he isn't played as a winger.

Well it's one way of letting everyone know your still about. Create a media frenzy. My own view would be somewhat biased as I have never taken to him ( Sturridge) but that's another story😉. What I would say is I think Jurgen is going to turn mane into a striker ( as he did with aubameyang) so maybe it may be the only position he gets to play?

This makes no sense to me, as he doesn't play sturridge as a winger. Also, sturridge quite often comes out wide right to receive the ball so he can get inside on his left foot.

Klopp has already pointed out that to score the goals he did he couldn't have been out on the wing.
