My biggest issue with whoever do our scouting/signings both for the senior team and the academy is it seems they give zero attention to physical strength. The PL is a very tough league physcially. It doesn't mean you have to be a big guy to survive it. Sterling wasn't a big guy but he was really strong and was really hard to make him fall. Same with Hazard. Couts is just quick enough to hold the ball (although even he get lost against big strong opposition. I mean look at City going forward, Aguero, De Broyna, Toure, Sterling, all really strong guys.

But if you look at our starting midfielders and strikers yesterday, maybe only with the exception of Ibe (who I don't rate for other reasons), they are all so soft. Even with Firmino who I like as a player I have doubts in that regard. Certaily Origi and Textiera, let alone brannagan, no disrespect to the lad but he looks like a primary school kid sent to fight in professional wrestling competition. It was the same with Markovich last year. I mean I know some of them are young and can work in the gym on their physical strength but some of it is how you built to start with I am schocked that before they are bought no one looks at that.

{Ed001's Note - seriously? This is a wind up right?}

Personally I thought Brannagan had a good game - He broke up play excellently and played the simple pass and that's all you want too see at this stage for me - Made double the tackles of anyone on the field and came off after 60 minutes and before anyone says we had all the possession that's why but Bournemouth actually had more possession in the 1st half - Think the kid definitely has something.

Im pretty sure an Ed somewhere might have been on one of the other pages wrote and article about what needs to change in English football to help it move forward highlighting how physicality obsessed england is with players and then you notice the difference in class at international level where our players are not as technically gifted as foreign players who when young might not have been that physical but a god on the ball. Got the chance over the lad who's pacier than them and now don't need pace at all and will outclass with touch and passing. Think how long Pirlo has been in the game and Alonso, they are class and haven't fell off due to being slow because they never relied on pace to begin with. Where as how many players get injured and lose their pace and never look the same. Poor Fernando never really recovered properly. Pace and strength are important but I think other factors are just as inportant if not more. I don't want some 7ft beast who can't pass the ball 10 yards or he might win every header but never put it on target.
