would be great to see him play a part in the back room positions like ryan giggs for united, bt i think it is best to get the right people in as our back room staff then going for people based on their relations to the club.

in the future maybe? who knows? bt i feel decisions should be for the best interest of the club, and not taking him may just be the right decision for now.

The club needs to move on. It will always be bigger than any player.

Nonsense. He wanted the center stage and was never ready for the sub role.

{Ed001's Note - sorry Harry but again your ignorance is showing through, he wanted to stay at Liverpool and move into coaching, the club knew it, but he was unwanted by the one person that was making the decision.}

is this for a fact or just some twisted journalism misquoting gerrard.
I am pretty sure Gerrard did not want to be a squad player. He certainly didn't want that role last season when BR offered him. he publicly said he was disappointed to be dropped against madrid.

{Ed001's Note - saying you are disappointed to be dropped is not the same as accepting a smaller role as a player/coach.}

It's certainly not a misquote, akshit. Google Gerrard and click on news and I'm sure you'll find it. He goes on to talk about it quite a lot throughout the interview.

Well ed01, he himself quoted some days back of his disappointment of being dropped to the bench against Real Madrid. The turning point of his decision.
You have said it many times, he never wanted to be a squad player and still believes he could do a job in the middle.
Opportunities are limited for someone who is 36. He wanted to make his presence felt in the pitch.

Where is my ignorance? I have just posted what you said some months ago.

This is hilarious, what if he comes and say tomorrow he was never offered an extension?

Gerrard is my best player but this is rubbish.

{Ed001's Note - it is not rubbish, he was disappointed, he didn't want to be a bit part player, but he did want to be a player coach and understood that there is no way he could play 90min every week and coach to the full. The rubbish is you Harry, not understanding that things change, I told you that there were things behind the scenes he wasn't talking about while he was at the club.}

As much as I don't agree with Rogers decision, I can see why he didn't want Gerrard in a coaching role at the club.
As soon as there was a run of bad results and people started questioning Rogers position, the fans would be calling for Gerrard to replace him.
