I read an article about how some poll found 91% of supporters want Sakho to start ahead of Lovren. I'm still confused why they both can't start but that'll never happen.

I think Sakho is better too, but he is a bit like Agger for me. Everyone loves the guy, but he can't stay off the injury table. And, to add to that, the storming out on match day episode.

I'm afraid Lovren will be made scapegoat but to be honest, it's not his fault, nor is he a bad defender. Some anger has been directed at Lovren simply because Sakho hasn't played ahead of him. Our leaky defense the past two seasons has had one thing in common throughout. Martin Skrtel.

I certainly don't love the guy. Skrtel and Lovren for me everyday of the week.

Lovren is the classier player no question but unfortunately he's made the scapegoat each week because he plays alongside an average player in Skrtel with an average keeper behind him in Mignolet.

He formed a very formidable partnership with José Fonte at Southampton, arguably the strongest defensive partnership in the league two seasons ago which is why we splashed the cash to sign him. Unfortunately Bodgers and the transfer committee has failed to find the right player to play alongside him.

Lovren and Sakho played together at Spurs away last season. They did very well together. I guess Brendan didn't notice this as I'm not sure it happened again?!

Did lovern not play right side before? I think he did!

Play them from the start and see how we do. Another season of skrtel and another is crazy. Maybe its rodgers exit plan with a big pay off???lol who knows

Put leftish, both your choices are aweful especially Skrtel. BR wants to play a high line which requires cbs with pace. Skrtel has no pace, doesn't communicate and is a headless chicken while Lovren although pacy and two footed with good passing ability, is too erratic and harries when he doesn't need to. Hence, I would pick Sahko and Lovren because they are suited to playing the high line. Skrtel is not, hence your idea of Skrtel and Lovren all day has already been seen last season and they were aweful together. It wasn't until Sahko and Lucas came into the team that we went on that run without conceding. Again, both your choices don't work and we have proof of that so still don't know why you think they are the best we have because together, they are proven failures.

I think Lovren was thrown into the lions den last season.
We had so much expectation for the team after the season before and the big concern was defence. Lovren was expected to sort our creaking defence out.
It was unfair on the young lad plus he'd had less time to gel after the World Cup. Add to that the whole team under performing and suffering a lack of confidence and he was destined to fail.
Next season Lovren will come good and be a colossus for us, I'm sure of it!

Lovren is not the issue for me Ron, because i actually rate him. The issue is that he is playing with a very incompetent partner in Skrtel as well as a system that offers no protection for the CB`s unlike at the Saints where he had a very competent CB partner in Fonte as well as Morgan and Wanyama protecting him so he couldjust dos job and not need to cover for when his partner goes AWOL lilke Skrtel does a lot. That is my issue with the defence and BR till now, has shown no desire nor determination to fix it and this may well cost him his job if results go south
