Just thought I'd stick my nose in with regards to Benteke for you lot. I personally think he's the wrong type of player for you. I have seen a lot of posters recently calling out the people who think he doesn't suit the system calling it nonsense. But I agree , he doesn't suit your system at all. I'm not saying you can't change formation and style of play which if you did, Benteke could be a great player for you. What makes me think it won't happen? Well last season when you couldn't hit a cows arse, a certain Mr Lambert, who is a similar player to Benteke , thriving off crosses etc, didn't get a sniff. Your manager decided 6 midfielders was better than playing Lambert. What makes you think if Benteke is signed your style will change ?? I think Brenda is too stubborn to change and utilise his strengths, therefore he's not the right striker for you. Just my opinion

Benteke is not a similar player to lambert. Despite simarities in height, they really are different. Benteke is powerful, direct, and has pace for a guy of his size. Lambert is more of a finesse player from what I've seen of him. He's misleading because he's big and somewhat slow.

Maybe the new coaching staff could help Rogers utilise benteke to his strength or coach him to play in the style we play. Perhaps that was the issue last term, the staff weren't versatile enough. We have an experienced assistant and a cracking first team coach on the books this season. Not that I'm condemning pascoe or marsh.

I agree, he suits your style more, as you can bypass your whole midfield with a long ball up from the back! Lol But seriously, worry about your own s***e, like whether or not your new "box to box" midfielder schweinsteiger can actually make it back to help defend if he eventually reaches the opponents 18 yard box and the unthinkable happens and you lose the ball! Who plays with him in midfield and makes the runs for him, he clearly has lost what legs he had last season, hence bayern getting rid!

Thing is buddy we don't have a set system a word which many people obsess over. You never know Rodgers what "system he will dole out come the 9th". He would not be my preferred choice but i can see the merits

Don't think Lambert and benteke are that comparable at all really as Lambert especially the last couple of seasons was nearly a clever false 9 type of player who looked to bring others into play. I get what you're saying in general but I think a lot depends on bentekes attitude and work ethic if he does join as much it is about how we play

Firstly this will be Brenda's last chance so he will defo play Benteke which will be his signing.Next Benteke is not similar to Lambert what Lambert lacked was pace,as it could be seen when thru ball was played he could not get it clearly.Benteke could be coached to make those runs and use his abilities.Or Rodgers has to change tactics and this time we have firmino as goalscoring midfielder so he will make those runs.And with less stiker options available he will be good signing though at a price around 25 mil.

Is a good player, yes! Does he suit our system, no. Main worry is don't see him and studge playing together and if played as a lone striker the team will probably have to play differently depending on who starts which can't be good

Your missing the point in that they play the same way. Yes there is some differences. But Benteke feeds off crossed. Liverpool like to play the ball on the ground. You won't see Benteke playing off the shoulder of the last defender. He thrives off balls in the air. If you look at his goal stats you will see

Lambert and Benteke are not comparable as Lambo played behind Jay Rod and Osvaldo at Southampton while CB is an out and out target man.
