Arthur Melo is out for up to 4 months.

Things just get worse…. so the player we got in to solve our midfield crisis, who had been training extra to get fit enough to play, is now injured for 4 months?! You’d think this club has been cursed or something!

{Ed025's Note - I think klopp must have shot an albatross mate.. ?

If JK hadn't spent two months sulking because Tchuomani (? Spelling) didn't want to come and actually realise we needed more midfielders before he did we wouldn't have ended up with a player with a shocking injury record. Its a joke.

I think I'll wait on word from the club rather than react to speculation based on an article in the Athletic behind a pay wall. Klopp certainly didn't appear perturbed when talking about it on Friday when he called it normal.

25 that's too funny.

Klopp was sulking? The disrespect shown by people that have as much football knowledge as a pigeon is astonishing.

{Ed025's Note - that’s a terrible thing to say about pigeons thunderbird.. ?

@Kim, it’s not about just buying anyone that might happen to be for sale, mate.

It’s about a player either being ready made to improve the starting 11 or having the potential to improve the team in the medium / long term. That’s the policy that the club have adopted.

Then there’s the players character and attitude and his motivation.

Then the player has to be in tune with what Liverpool want to do

Or we could put the names of midfielders who cost £75m or more in a hat, close our eyes and pick out a name, when we have one we can then start to haggle with the player’s agent and club and stick another 25% onto the cost to come up with someone like Grealish.

Anyway, reading media this (Sunday) morning we are going to buy Rice, Barella and Bellingham so we should be set after the World Cup ?.

well for some strange reason Kloppo thought that we didn't need an extra quality man in an aging injury prone midfield, then he changed his mind, too late, and we got a man, who had not played for 4 months, injury prone and had problems with previous managers, but to his credit, tried his best to get fully fit,
very unlucky for Liverpool and Melo, so I have fingers and toes crossed that Fab, Hendo and Thiago stay fit, or we will slip into the bottom half of the league,
we might get a draw V the Gunners, can't see us beating them,
fair play to them, they have brought in 3 class players who have settled in well,
I would take the draw, so happy that Konate is back, think that he will help out Trent, much faster than Matip, tougher too,
I did like how we tweaked the tactics V Rangers, gave them lots of ball over the top, and great movement from Darwin,
he get a couple of goals then he will improve .

Good post KT I think we will improve too, but the signing of Melo was desperation last minute, if the guy couldn’t cope in Italy, then the pace and thrust of the prem was always going to be a challenge. I heard 6-8 weeks yesterday off someone else but given the recovery period after an injury it is likely to be the new year before any sight of him for the first team, if at all?
I really hope that the summer of 23 is the next phase of the FSG philosophy, first team players who will improve the team only!
Barella and Rice would be special, I watched Bellingham against Bayern last night and I don’t see a £130m player at all?

Well he was always injury prone so more than anything else we need to stop buying those players. I was never a massive fan of Gini but at least he has always available. Need to focus on bringing in some robustness and clearing out the injury prone and aging in the coming windows.

All the talk of Barella, Rice, Bellingham is just pie in the sky. Given our current form we’re looking more and more like mid table side than a top four side and be honest, will any of them want to join club outside the champions league and visibly in decline when they’ve all got better and more lucrative options?

Not sure why people are getting in a flap about Arthur. He was never more of a solution to our midfield problem than Sahin was. A temporary stopgap not getting game time elsewhere.

Loyalty will come back and bite Klopp at least 3 should of been shown the door this season.

IDreamofGini, I think it’s the fact we spent all that time in the summer doing nothing in the false belief that our midfield options were better than they were and then panicking when the usual faces get injured and bringing in another injury prone midfielder on loan who was never up to the job. All of this was avoidable. Should have moved on Keita, Ox, Jones and Milner and refreshed the midfield, but we chose not to and here we are.
