The Ox has signed a new contract extension. Could be a key player for us this season.

Glad to hear it. Ox seems to be a good person to have in the locker room and he can have a real impact as the season goes on.

Like a new signing. The English Be Bruyne.

I was a big believer in Ox before he came to Liverpool but I’m slightly surprised that the club have extended his contract given his injury.
He’s not ‘like a new signing’ because he’s damaged goods, as harsh as that sounds, and would we even sign him at all if he’d had that injury back then?

Nice to see you stand by our players juicer, damage goods is fecking well harsh, maybe you should try and support the team and players, instead of putting crap like that.

think the juicer has been juicing too much and his brain has gone to mush.

Wow . most of our players have had an injury in the past including Salah and Mane . are they all damaged goods? .

Look I do have a concern that Alex gets injured quite often, probably the way he plays, don't know . But unfortunately there are players that have this problem and these players sadly never achieve their full potential.

Sorry lads. I’d have waited until the season end before offering him an extension but I certainly hope he comes good again and stays healthy. As I said, I always liked Ox and was very supportive of his coming to the club. I think he’s a favourite of Klopp’s, which is fair enough.

Best supporters in the world!

I agree juicer turn of phrase wasn’t a particularly nice one, but i take his central point. it seems slightly odd to extend now when we haven’t seen if he will be able to return to his pre-injury form. At the end of the day, we’re emotional supporters but the club are hard nosed business people. I hope to goodness he can get back to how he was playing for us, he was brilliant.

I mean we have club doctors and all kinds of guys in the fitness department who constantly assess Oxlade, I'm pretty sure the club are well aware how his injury has healed and whether it's a big risk or not. Better to leave them to weigh that up than assume he's going to be made of glass because of a freak injury.

Do Man City consider KDB as "damaged goods? he like the Ox has suffered some pretty serious injuries in his time in England.

Happy for the lad great person and player someone I would like to see at the club for his entire career.

Signing a year extension was nice touch from the club to show AOC that he's highly valued. He lost out on a full year of his career and nice to see that Liverpool are showing him that he's deserving of making up for that year he missed out on.

Clearly those within the club have seen he's worked hard and shown a great attitude to earn an extension. He's still reasonably young so a longer contract can't be anything other than a sensible choice.

Madness to see some fans not in full support of this decision, the same fans who probably moaned when lovren got a new deal in the past, he'd probably be gone on a free transfer by now without it.

Lot of people didn’t fancy the ox when he signed I myself was happy 😃 tho I did think the fee was astronomical. But I like him, as a player he turned the doubters around he seems like laugh . I will stand and argue with anyone who doubts him and I think it’s class offering him a extension but nothing I wouldn’t expect the club to do. Some of you still don’t get what it means to be a red YNWA happy bank holiday guys.

{Ed047's Note - I liked him but always thought he flattered to deceive, never quite reaching the level I’d hoped for.

His injury record is shocking and from that side of things was not sorry to see him go.

Nice lad though and wished him well when he went.

Sorry Har, but I just happen to think the timing is a bit strange, that’s all. It’s nothing to do with supporting the Ox getting a new deal, I don’t think there was any rush for him to sign was there ( I might be wrong) . I don’t think there’s anyone that can be sure he’ll return to his pre-injury form and that’s all my point is. We all have to wait and keep everything crossed that he will do, but football is littered with players who were never quite the same after injuries. I personally just think it could have waited to Christmas that’s all.

@lfchopeful I understand your caution but it's just 1 year extension it's not that big a gamble really., just a nice case of backing from the club to show that we believe he's worthy of getting back that year he missed out on.
