Hi ed's asked in the summer about de lift, are we still interested in him? And if so will we be upping interest in Jan due to the CB problems?

{Ed001's Note - a month long injury is not going to cause a change in transfer plans.}

I would normally agree ed but our defenders are not that durable and the worry is we are left wide open at crucial times, be nice too know wat level nat Phillips is at but he only played in friendlies.

i believe virgil van dijk will be able to lift whoever partners him in defense if they need any, in light of our injuries in defence.

We'll be fine, there's no need to worry, bringing in another defender would be daft, we have youngsters capable, no need in splashing the cash on a new defender imo. What message would that give to the young lads? it'd basically be telling them 'you've got no bloody chance here so bugger off'. For the sake of a few weeks we'll just have to get on with it.

I think if we signed de lift he'd definitely take us to the next level.

With 5 days in-between each of the next three games hopefully Lovren can stay fit and play. Seems Newcastle at home could be a good one to play Masterson and give Dejan a rest before Arsenal-City. Philips has an injury atm as well, but we've got George Johnston. Fabinho could also be used at CB. We aren't going to sign a player just to cover for a few weeks. Unless of course we go for Caulker again as a super-sub striker. He is a free-agent after all. ;)

Hailstones - I think the solution you're looking for is to replace those players. So sell and them buy. For now we can't just but and over-stock in case of future injuries.
