Do we hold any interest in Rabiot? Apparently Klopp is very interested and the club are in contact with his agent (His mum) . Hope its true, looks a great player already.

{Ed002's Note - This might be something recycled from the summer. I am not aware of Liverpool having any discussions with his mother.}

My reply not gone up. I will try a diff reply ed sory if ot was not acceptable mate.

So is that a no interest from us in the player please?

{Ed002's Note - If there is interest Liverpool would need to speak with his mother and at some point PSG to find out any costs they might be expecting when his contract concludes. Other clubs have been speaking to both parties already.}

Apparently, he has already had a call with Klopp, probably to arrange a trip to Blackpool.

Ed002, won't he be 24 by then? and hence as free as free can be?

{Ed002's Note - No it is not related to the clubs who did his training but to any costs which PSG will look to claim. Being free of a contract does not mean the registration still resides with the club he was last contracted to. There are always residual costs to pay.}

@Kloppbanger - I do think that these stories are guff however, when you say 'we are stacked in midfield why would we be after another' that doesn't really make a lot of sense if you look at the bigger picture. Lallana will surely leave in the not so distant future and, even if he doesn't, has not performed well for quite a while. Our new midfielder (Fabinho) is struggling to settle with no timeline (that I am aware of) for him to start playing games. Wijinaldum is wildly inconsistent and seems to, based on watching him last season and the start of this, have 3 bad games for every decent game he has.

So imagine Wijinaldum and Lallana leaving by next summer we have in midfield:

Keita, Henderson, Milner, Fabinho (whose ability to settle will be key in him becoming a long term fixture or not), Shaqiri can cover the advanced midfield area. I think their is still scope to improve the midfield personally. Milner is 32 and, sooner or later, will be unable to maintain his energy levels and consistency. Henderson is 28 with a dodgy injury record - he seems to have recovered well but anything could happen. Difficult to know what will happen with Fabinho - obviously we all hope he can settle and contribute. I can see space for another midfielder there personally, Rabiot on a free is not so far-fetched (in terms of us wanting a midfielder), though the actual story of speaking to his mother seems like pure fantasy from the gutter press.

Are we not looking for a player who can play the quick pass to the front 3 and escape the midfield press?

If I remember correctly, we wanted Jorginho for that role.

If Fabinho doesn't make it, then I suspect we will be looking at bringing in another midfielder.

Rabiot might make sense if we are priced out of Ruben Neves.

Geez, leave Fabinho out of this would you? He hasn't even played a single competitive game for us and people are talking like we are looking to offload him already.

Calm down.

Many indications Fabinho may well play for us a defender.

Nobody is slating him. He hasn't played yet!
