Reports from Nigerian outlet suggests Liverpool are in "advanced talks" with Gent for Moses Simon. Deal would apparently see Taiwo Awoniyi go the other way on a season long loan. Awoniyi is to sign a new long term deal with LFC soon.

Just thought I'd share.

All the best

Jay.

We know Awoniyi will probably be going to one of the top clubs in belgium, so i am assuming they are putting two and two.

But thanks for passing on the info!

Think we will sign only one winger this summer to cover for Mane and Salah, most likely Shaqiri. Wilson will probably get a shot as well. So don't see the need for Simon as well as it would be overkill and send a wrong message for our young forwards looking for game time.

{Ed0333's Note - anyone see this Simon fella play? Maybe he’s better than the young forwards we have? I’m all for having the best possible players over a kid whose not up to the grade.

I doubt anyone here follows the Belgian league so the best we can do is YouTube.
He looks ok in those but think a move to LfC will be too big a step up imo. Shaqiri for 15 million is the much safer option.

Is he a actual target Ed or is it just paper BS🤔.

{Ed0333's Note - don’t know mate sorry.

Shaqiri is phenomenally lazy, selfish on the ball, has a very high opinion of himself and sulks when he isn't a starter. He would be an awful signing whatever the cost.

{Ed0333's Note - Tell us what you really think Seano

Shaqiri is far from the safe option. He is lazy and thinks he is better than he is. We don’t want him anywhere near our team.

Shaqiri a safe option? I have heard it all now. The thought of him anywhere near our club gives me palpitations.

There isn’t much truth to it though is there? Just lazy journalism I thought. Sometimes people just need a big name signing salah mate. Shaquiri can’t come to us. Purely based on his attitude problems he just wouldn’ fit in. Forget that he’s bang average. With ac Milan getting a European ban surely we should be getting over the idea of buying for the sake of buying. But of luck, one of the young lads makes an impression in preseason.

Agreed aoe. I look forward to preseason for exactly that, I can't wait to see more of the youngsters mate.

I agree salah and aoe. The problem for these youngster tho is some aren't so young therefore they are at the age they need to playing regularly (e. g harry wilson 21 ) .

Harry Wilson for example would love to see him put in a good pre season and get a chance next season but the it looks like brewster has been promised more game time so with him mane, firmino and salah it's hard for any of the youngsters to see staying as a good move for there career at the moment.

Apparently 6 million Euro plus 20% on sale tabled to Gent.

Why isn't he good enough for the Nigeria squad? It shouldn't be that hard to get into that squad if you're good enough for a top Premier League side to be interested.

He was supposed to be one of their stars this summer but caught an untimely injury and the manager didn't pick him as it was a race to be fit in time.

Not every player bought is bought with the first team in mind. Awoniyi is a great example of this. The club is a business and profits are to be made on players - just look at Juventus, Man City and Chelsea.

{Ed002's Note - He can't get a work permit. He is not a good example of anything.}

I'd rather us unearth a cheap alternative that turns into a bargain than pay through the nose. YouTube only but he looks to be more than a one trick pony with a decent shot, trickery and can whip a cross in without having to beat a man. I know that means very little!
