Graham Beecroft who I've always found pretty reliable has just said Shaqiri def not being looked at by Liverpool and we aren't after Butland anymore either.

I wouldn’t mind Shaqiri at all for 12 million was stokes best player by a mile last year and he’s good cover. God forbid though we stay well clear of Butland.

Good enough player for back up, the sort of player Chelsea have had on their bench for years. I don’t know about the rest of what he might bring as to whether it would be a good idea or not though.

shaqiris a klopp player. too lazy but klopp can figure that out. scores freekicks and outside of box like couts used to do when teams sat back. I thought he should have signed last year along with mertiens. Good squad not first team but squad.

I’d rather we got Fekir (who can also cover wide), Alisson and then get someone like Moses Simon who’s young and may improve, and let him and Wilson be the backup options out wide.

We don’t need a Prima Donna like Shaqiri in the dressing room when he’s not good enough to start.

The best thing to come out of all this is that Liverpool are starting to tighten up and do their business behind closed doors and are keeping it under wraps for as long as possible.

That’s a good thing and can only result in lower fees and less competition.
