I read that Can will stay at Liverpool if he receives ) £200,000 per week. Not only is he not worth that 'salary' to Liverpool I CAN't see any other club paying anywhere near that. He continues to show that his loyalty is to the 'mighty dollar' and I personally hope that he never plays for the club again.

I think Ed said in an earlier post to ignore money talk, the lad just wants to leave.

Good luck to him but we can get better for that amount of money.

Let him go and bring in Doucoure, who apparently would like to play for us.

Why should Emre not want the amount he thinks he is worth?

5.) 26 Mar 2018

I’m sure he does want what he thinks he’s worth, the problem is I don’t think many clubs will think he’s worth what he thinks he’s worth.

The guy wants to go, fair enough, as long as he gives 100% between now and the end of the season then fair enough. As long as he doesn’t go to one of our domestic rivals then I’ve no issue with it.

Totally think Emre is worth £200k a week as he will be a free agent.
If for instance he signed for Juve for £30mil plus extras that spread over 5 years is £6mil per year, which equates to roughly 100k per week.
This is what a club would potentially save in signing fee. Add his what his market value is wage wise and £200k doesn’t seem that steep.
Look at our top earners, Van Dijk, Milner and Matip. 2 if which were free transfers.

I can see him going to City and it announced just after the season ends.

No player is “worth” that kind of money it’s absolutely obscene.
If Emre wants a pay rise then he is welcome to chance his arm elsewhere.

Ed025 inflation in UK is expected to be 10% over next 3 years - your economy is worse than I thought!

Juve want him. we know that. if we want him, then Can has just named his price (allegedly :) ) sounds like fair negotiation to me lol.

Load of bull. not about money, been said on here plenty that Klopp doesn't see Can as the future of our midfield. The lad wants to go and be a mainstay at a club. He has everything to become a top class midfielder but maybe Klopp sees other players who would be a better fit. From the outside he looks to be completely focused and level headed. Just a player with ambitions maybe Klopp can't offer him.

The Eds are right . Forget the money because the move is pure fake out to keep LFC from trying to keep him and setting the bar for the other teams that want to buy him. 200K/ week is Hazard, De Gea and De Bruyne level money for God's sake, and even Can knows his contribution, impact and value to LFC is nowhere near theirs to their teams. Player values have gone up but the market is not blind. And can you imagine the turmoil in the dressing room if he's the first one to get that level of salary? He's served his term, he wants to leave, so let's wish him Godspeed on his way.

Ben De Weer et al-
Can is worth £125k but he will also get a large signing on fee. That is why it would cost us £200k per week to keep him.

Phil_Lfc:
Ed025 was right. Inflation is expected to be around 4% per annum for the next 3 years. That's a compounded rate of almost 12.5% over the 3 years in question.
You're welcome!

Agent is doing his job trying to raise his salary at his next club. Nothing to do with us.

A good player. Just not quite good enough for us.

Wish him well.

To be honest he is a good player but is very replaceable, I wouldn't put him in the "oh no please don't leave" standard of player, I think we could get a lot better standard of player to replace him, regardless of what is coming out about money etc I think he is off to City, he is a 6/ 7 out of 10.

Can has come out already denied the false reports. Clearly about the money since he's never denied that he will be leaving.
Lancasterred, he's a very good young player who could go on to run and control games if he did stay. Of course he's definitely going but every player becomes a "not too worried if he goes" player when we know they are going.
Not that I worry too much about any player going. Love Coutinho, he's unbelievable but life goes on and so does Liverpool.

Was it from Can or could it have come from the club? Conspiracy theory time lol, maybe the club put the info out so the fans would think Can is greedy and his leaving would then have asked to take, can't beat a good conspiracy.

Kloppshop, I don't see him running games in the future with much tempo, he is a good player but that's it, not a plyer on a level where he can take us to a league or CL, he plays at too slow a pace for me, that's all, I think when he and especially Wijnaldum play together in midfield it slows our play too much, wasn't fussed when he was in contract tbh if he was sold, ok player just not at the top level I think we need.
