One for Ed002, maybe. (although I fear a "that's why we don't talk money" response! )

With the astronomical fees being paid now, how (indeed are? ) are footballers insured by their clubs
a) against career-ending injury
b) against injuries from which they are never quite the same again.
I can't even imagine what the annual insurance costs on a £75M defender might be, given that injuries are pretty common. What sort of money do clubs spend here?

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - (a) Yes, (b) No. I am not interested in discussing the costs.}

Shame, I would have been very interested to hear that answer.

I know the young lad from the academy was reportedly given 1ml payout after a car accident ended his career about ten years ago.

How about

c) what coverage do clubs receive when players are injured on International duty - imagine Spurs without Kane for 6 months due to an injury on England duty - that would cost them CL football for sure.

{Ed002's Note - It depends on which country they play for. Countries like Germany, FRance, Spain etc. are well insured, the African countries are not so the club would need to take additional insurance if they wish.}
