Hi Eds, I read that Can is waiting for Liverpool to agree a release clause or similar before he will commit to a new contract.

Ed2 has suggested that they have no legal basis in the UK. I am no expert, could you please explain whether Can is looking for this and if so, why that may be, if they have no basis in the UK?

{Ed001's Note - I have not heard anything about him wishing for a release clause sorry.}

Do you know why Can has not signed a new contract Ed001?
And, in your opinion, do you think he will sign or will he leave for nothing at the end of the season.

{Ed001's Note - I have answered this a hundred times.}

He's lost his pen vcromp. Club won't supply a new one and have told him it will come out of Clyne's wages if they have to. Clyne was angry at being dragged into it and retaliated by stabbing Klopp in the thigh with a fountain pen. Klopp lost his cool. Took off his hipster glass and smashed Clyne through the treatment table with a Batista bomb.

Whole situation is messy. Clyne is in a coma, Can still doesn't have a pen, and Klopp is being investigated by the WWE for a dangerous unscripted move.

James Milner, witness to the whole thing, has been quoted as saying "i have a pen he can borrow"

You are in desperate need of some holidays. Preferably where there is only seas, sun and sand, with no humans around. And plenty of time to reflect on what other interests to pursue aside from football in your free time, because football is bringing out the violent side in you.

VR he's worried about playing time. He sees Keita has just been signed and he'd be an immediate starter for Juventus. I like the lad a lot, but I think he would be even better in the black and white stripes. I want him to stay however.

He hasn't signed as non of the incompetants in the lfc player contracts dept has asked him yet.

If you can't get in liverpools team why would you get in juventus.

{Ed001's Note - because they have told him he will.}

Just give him the 100 grand a week and a fair release clause and be done with it. Cheaper than buying a replacement and he is going to just keep getting better.

{Ed002's Note - I have not said that they have no legal basis in the UK. You all need to forget about clauses.}

Accept that he's going. If he was going to stay he would of signed by now. He knows he's not going to be 1st choice next year that's y he's off end of.

Is that how it works ed1? that's surprised me how a team can guarentee a player he will start all the time.

{Ed001's Note - if a team really wants a player they will do a lot to convince them to join.}

Ed didn't we tell Grujic he'd get games among others.

{Ed002's Note - yes and the WP committee.}

I don't see how any teams can guarantee playing time. If you are looking poor in training you won't be risked in anything other than minor cup games or occasional sub.

This whole game time thing winds me up. If you want to play then work your nuts off, improve enough so you can't be dropped. That's the only way. If you're going to whinge about not playing instead of knuckling down and working on your game then you can do one as far as I'm concerned.

MK,

Was it just a pen, or an apple-pen?

{Ed001's Note - it was a Mont-Blanc mate. Apple pen my arse, footballers don't want cheap tat like that!}

Cant they give him say £2m lump sum to sign new contract. Then sell for £40m. Rather than squabble and lose him for free or £20m in jan.

Something is very very wrong if we can't give our best midfielder the same guarantees as Juventus.

Haizan, unsubstantiated reports this morning are suggesting the the fountain pen removed from Jurgen's thigh has the words "From Brazil with love" inscribed down the side.

Coutinho has denied any involvement but there was a bank transfer of £7.56 between himself and Clyne just 2 days ago.

The plot thickens.

i think you may have missed what Haizan was trying to say ed001.

i believe he was referring to a viral video named Pen Pineapple Apple Pen.

i may be wrong, bt u didn't hear this from me. its a horrible video. don't watch it. just dont.

{Ed001's Note - erm.....}

I have a pen,
I have an apple,

Apple Pen!

I have a pen,
I have pineapple,
UH,
Pineapple pen!

Pen pineapple, apple pen!

Yeah don't watch it Ed001. It ruins your social life. I haven't been out in 6 months.

{Ed001's Note - I am really getting worried for people's sanity.}

Any team can promise a player game time doesn't mean to say he will get it once he signs a 5 year deal. and i had to laugh when someone said our Best midfielder i have said it a few times he isn't fit to wear the shirt he has had a handful of good games since he got here. let him go in January, but of course he can talk to any foreign clubs in Jan and sign a pre contract agreement to sign in the summer. players come and go but the team is the most important. Hope he stays, if even for the future transition of hendo, lallana and Milner. Hope he is looking at that and seeing he, along with keita are the very near future engine room for liverpool.

Jack Bezants from Mailonline (Don't shoot me) insists the issue with Can's contract is a release clause.

It could be that he wants a release clause, in case he does not get the game time he desires - giving him a way out.

25.) 07 Sep 2017
07 Sep 2017 12:47:43
Even if the club agree to a clause something i can't see them being against as it would mean they would recieve a fee when he moves on there will be a multitude of excuses for not signing. can has had no intention of signing for a long time. complete stupidity by lfc lettin it get this far. edwards is world class according to werner.

26.) 07 Sep 2017
07 Sep 2017 16:14:57
I think we've misinterpreted why MK mentioned the pen.

It was "iron" -it was firm, it was mineral. No, no, no, that's stupid. It was. It was firm, it was adamant, it was resolved.

It was resolved.

Jurgen Klopp used the Pen to sign the Declaration of Independence :o.

Cheers.

I players wanting assurances that they are being signed as a starting player, to be played in their regular position and no plans to sign other starting players in same role; is being confused with a player expecting to play regardless. I don't think even footballers think they will play every game regardless, (with some very few exceptions) and I would expect they understand the flip side of that would be the manager would be able to say they have to play even when they don't want to. It is not so different to any of us going for a job where they give a range of roles and we want to understand what the split of our time is likely to be. You don't sign to be benching or out of position and back up if you want to be playing regularly. Can as the Eds have said sees that as what he'd be signing up to at LFC.
