If he was a new signing, or in his first year, or still young, or even just back from a big injury, I'd ne happy to give him more time. It's been 3 years now though and he has if anything gotten worse!

Ed001 just going on from the OP, I know a few weeks ago one of the eds suggested he was close to a return, not he's not in champions league squad for 2017 seems like a quick change in expected return date. Can I ask, has his injury always been worse but we've tried to play it down to allow TAA and Gomez time rather than people demanding we sign another RB? I know it could all be genuine but It all just doesn't add up for me, longstanding rumours of Clyne not being happy, insight that Klopp wants TAA playing more regularly, then suddenly Clyne is injured, now it's a long term injury? Cheers for any insight.

Got to love the conspiracy theories haha, surprised nobody has said "the club saying 'back injuries' is code for he wants out and won't play" xD

He is genuinely injured and that’s that. We haven't registered him because he will miss most of the CL by the sounds of it and we have 2 extra RBs in the squad anyway.

After he returns it'll take a while for him to get up to fitness again (like all long term injuries) so you wouldn’t really want him in the latter stages (depending if we survive that long) so really no point registering him.

No cause for injury, no official diagnosis, no timeframe for recovery, and not a word from either club or player regarding? Your probably right but it's not normal for something to happen and we literally know nothing about it, especially these days.

If people are going to throw out conspiracy theories they might want to consider there could be other medical issues or family issues that are private that are causing this, not just some transfer or strike thing, so maybe we should all be a bit cautious on comments for the time being?

As for conspiracies - I am not sure on this but i think Clyne got some scandal on his hands he reported to the police. It could be personal reasons he is out and club are doing right by keeping it closed.
that or he is just injured and under diagnosis and docs haven't yet given an actual time frame on the extent of his injury.
