Liverpool will not let his contract run down to the end. We have been burnt before. I've said it before and I'll say if again. Can is going to become one of the best CMS on the planet. He has almost everything in his locker. I'd like to see more range in his passing as I'm sure he is capable of it. He is worried about playing time but he is going to get plenty this year. Looks like we are going to have plenty of games. He is at a very important stage of his career. His next contract will define his career xnd I hope he chooses to sign and stay sith us. I know Emre has a long way to go to become world class but he is still a kid. 23, already looks like an older and experienced player. By 27 I suspect he will be one of best around. Plenty of UCL experience and a premier league medal I hope! Or two!

Eds I would love to hear your opinion on Can? Do you agree with Superred91?

{Ed001's Note - it is not as simple as that, if someone is willing to pay the price we are asking, we would let him go, if not then we will keep him for the season and then he will be free to go elsewhere. It is unlikely now he will be persuaded to stay.}

Bloody hell ed really. I thought he would sign and stay. I guess it shows we must be bringing one in as he feels he won't get a regular slot.

I agree with you on Can. i think he's not far from being a dominant midfielder. just think he's needs to reglarly play in the cm position before he can make it his own.

Chases the ball too much i find. I prefer it when lallana is in the 3.

If I had to I'd sell Hendo and keep Can. But only if we sign another midfielder. Jean Michael Seri? Thoughts on this Ed's?
1 thing Klopp needs to stop is playing Hendo, Can and Gini in a midfield 3. They all do the same thing. There is no real goal threat in midfield unless Coutinho or Lallana are in there. We all know what's happening there.

Surely one of the best cms on the planet should be able to pass a ball 5 yards and head a ball? Capable of coming up with something special out of nowhere but not good enough week in week out to play for us.

When fully fit I think Hendo is a lot better than Can. I think Can slows our attacks down a lot and is really prone to giving the ball away far too much. When Lallana is Fit, if Couts stays and we get either Keita or Siri, i can see those three being our new 3 cm's. possibly Hendo instead of Siri/ keita/ lallana from time to time.

Cannot see Can get much game time when everyone is fully fit personally.

My prediction is, by Jan he'll realise he's not getting as much game time as he wants and end up going for 20M to someone. that's if couts stays and we sign another CM mind.

Could become I said. Not he is best on planet. He can pass more than 5 years. What are you talking about? He is quite often the holding player and they are told to keep it simple. I gave seen him play some lovely passes, splitting defences. He is a lot more than an overhead kick. Look around at other cms his age. There are some goodun but not tonnes with his experience and quality. These will be the top players in the game in five years time. He is well on the way to being one of the best in that group. Along with his technical ability hd has some degree of vision too.

The style of play we have adapted under Klopp doesn't suit Can's abilities and strengths. If he were to be positioned as an out right CDM, and worked on his abilities and mindset to focus on this position I think he could pan out going forward given his age and style.
I just don't think he has the tools that best suit our style as a regular CM on the right or left of the midfield.
This is where we need a Lallana, Seri, Couter, Keita. a CDM that solidifies the back line and provides cover for fullback runs, and CM's such as mentioned moving forward into attack.
The question is can Liverpool wait long enough to see if he can pan out as a DM, especially when we don't know if he will or not. OR do we buy a proven, quality CDM such as Krychowiak, N'Zonzi, etc and cash in on him now and not worry about the position.
I just hope Klopp and the staff do in fact see this as an issue and hope they feel it needs to be addressed. That's just my opinion, but who am I? :)

His football brain is too slow for me and he holds up play a lot going forward and he's not disciplined enough to be a holding midfielder.
I agree he has great attributes to be a wonderful footballer but so did Micah Richards.

At the moment I prefer Hendo to can but it's not a case of which one. We need a bit of depth and a going to need them both to perform if we want success. Don't know my preferred midfield three, I like all the players we have who play there. I guess lallana, Hendo and Can. People talk about pc playing in midfield but he very rarely does. If we play 4 man mf then he slips in behind the attack. Jurgen seems to favour 433 and pc is usually on the left hand side of front line. So he can cut inside, on his right peg and do his thing. I like Wijnaldum and against the so called lesser teams I'd pick him in mf three. Against the city and Chelsea I'd pick can. Let's not forget JM and also reckon we could see TAA in that MF soon. Perhaps in league cup.
