Good luck eds the page is about to explode.

{Ed002's Note - This has been going on for more than a year. The club can simply say no to him if he has handed in a transfer request (which seems unlikely to me) and make him stay. As I have explained, he will know that this may be his only opportunity to get the move he wants.}

Melissa Reddy‏Verified account @MelissaReddy_

I've been told it is "not true" that Phil Coutinho has handed in a transfer request

#LFC

James Pearce:#LFC adamant that they haven't received a transfer request from Philippe CoutinhoVerified account.

Pearce and Melissa way more reliable than SSN so staying positive for now. FSG need to resist any offer Barcelona makes coz our season starts tomorrow and we do not need a Coutinho-less cloud hanging over the players' heads.

Sky or baca stirrin the pot. its fakenews lol.

Sky now reporting that a close family member has confirmed it and that Liverpool don't let there players go with respect.

As much as I do not want the club to sell Coutinho, I really hope the club can sit down with him, come to an agreement whatever that might be. If he tells the club this is the move he wants, then I really think we should do the right thing and just get the best deal for LFC, wish him the best and thank him for his time with us. Last thing I feel we need to be doing is trying to force the lad to stay, let's respect his whishes if he doesn't wish to stay, he will be a loss and be missed yes. But we will dust ourselves off and carry on, who knows what the transfer window may still bring with incomings, having said all that the transfer request has yet to be confirmed.

Eds, which seems unlikely ; that he has handed in a transfer request, or Liverpool would say no?

{Ed002's Note - The TR.}

11 Aug 2017 13:18:30
Eds any idea what's going on, if liverpool had any intention to sell im sure they could use this request to appease any backlash, has the request even been submitted? Or is a suarez situation more likely, with a possible move to PSG next summer?

{Ed002's Note - I have answered this - I am not aware of any transfer request. I am not aware of any statement from the player or his representative suggesting there has been one.}

To be honest Barcelona are more likely to win things that's just fact but I think this golden era of Barcelona being 'the team' is at an end, the famed youth system ain't bringing too many world beaters through, messi is ageing, Suarez is ageing, no neymar, demebele who they want is too young to make too much of a difference just et, couintho is class but I think Barcelona in general are coming to an end. Would be nice if the premier league teams stood up against he Spanish ones and told them where to go!

Only 1 person can deny it and that's Coutinho himself. If it's not true then surely he should take to social media to let everyone know.

{Ed002's Note - Why would he want to do that. The player wants to leave.}

I am guessing the Family member statement is some BS so SS can save face over the fake news.

Sly source is Cout's missus, already got the factor 20 from H&B and cases packed. Only going to end one way this with LFC caught with their pants down again and everyone having a good chuckle as we pay over the odds panic buying a squad member to plug the un-pluggable! Oh and we'll probably get the cash in instalments. Was looking forward to the weekends footy but now this will dominiate all weekend until the lad signs for Barca.

I would take the money for him what they have already offered is double his value.

13.) 11 Aug 2017
11 Aug 2017 13:45:49
Best scenario if he goes is we get Rakitic plus cash.

14.) 11 Aug 2017
11 Aug 2017 13:48:58
Is everybody missing the main point, wether he has or hasn't FSG our owners have their own statement saying the player will not be sold no matter what offers come in. That's the final word. He's going nowhere if our owners say he isn't.

15.) 11 Aug 2017
11 Aug 2017 13:52:40
Looks like he's handed one in now.

16.) 11 Aug 2017
11 Aug 2017 13:55:57
It's clear that he really does want to leave, the question is how hard Liverpool want to force the issue and how comfortable we has on possible replacements able to come in at late notice.

Frankly speaking as much as I'd love to keep him, if he's insistent on going and we can bring in Keita and VVD in his place then we're better of letting him follow his dreams rather than holding him against his will.

17.) 11 Aug 2017
11 Aug 2017 14:24:03
I would let him go. Good player, yes, but he's not top drawer. Great on his day but that only happens every 5-6 games. Won nothing with him here despite having league nearly won 13/ 14, 3 lost semi-finals and 2 lost finals. Can't remember him having a great game in any of those and went missing in pretty much all of them. I know he scored against Villa in the semi but was woeful and although he scored against City in the final he also missed a penalty. Top players influence and win big games so he's not for me when you have £100 million on the table and a team to improve. And people talking of statues if he stays are having a laugh when we have players of the ilk of Dalglish, Gerrard, Barnes, Souness, Keegan, St. John, Hunt to name just a few that won everything. Thanks Phil, but give me a right back, centre half and a top centre midfielder to dominate a game and I'd trade you in all day mate.

11 Aug 2017 14:31:02
Letting Coutinho leave doesn't mean we'll be able to get VVD or Keita. Both are still highly unlikely!

19.) 11 Aug 2017
11 Aug 2017 14:52:44
Agree but my point is we need visibility on those replacements (or others of similar quality) before we should be agreeing to let him go.

Good post under floodlights. I'm so torn over this. If he goes then everyone is going to right us off, but so what I guess. It may be getting late in the day but there is generally a lot of business done in august and there is time to buy.

Liverpool were very good last term but the reason we didn't make a serious challenge is because of depth. I cannot understand why we are doing no business? Sign some bloody players liverpool. I don't see why we should bend if Southampton and rbl aren't going to.

If Phil wants to go, let him but let's get kieta done. He is not the only decent player out there though.

11 Aug 2017 15:31:31
Lfc-ash thankfully you're not negotiating then in that case. Barcelona are cash rich at the moment and if we sell, then we need to eek every last penny out of them.

TBH i'd take the money and let the boy go.

Push Firmino into the PC role and let Sturridge when fit) play upfront and Solanke take over when he's not.

Leaves all the cash for JAN. or next summer when we can add it to next seasons money and buy the quality players we need.
