Any truth to report from french sports site, RMCSport, that Sakho has been suspended by LFC for taking fat burning pills?

Well if he's in the squad today then that rumour will be quashed.

Sadly it has been announced by the club and they are to make a formal statement at around 13.30gmt.

Also, it is about an element in a fat burning supplement that Sakho is claiming he did not know the composition of.

The player is currently not subject to any playing suspension. However, the club, in consultation with the player, has decided that while this process is followed the player will not be available for selection for matches. There will be no further comment at this time

From club website.

Seems an odd one, I pray this gets dealt with quickly and he's cleared, possibly naive though. I wonder how the club and klopp would view his future if found guilty, do people think it would have an effect?

Great. just when he and lovren have been immense.

Something smells fishy to me, I think he's probably used the drugs for other benefits. I really can't see a professional footballer training the amount they do and all the nutritionalists, sports scientists etc they have struggling to keep off weight.

{Ed001's Note - try telling that to the likes of Shelvey and Rooney who are amongst many who struggle to keep their weught down

Disappointing really, with the knowledge available to Sakho to check first.
When you think a simple cold remedy, headache pill and skin creams can contain steroids - my mind tells me a fat burning pill (if this part is true) will have traces of steroids!
Typical as others have said, we hit consistency in our games and a good centre back pairing. I guess Kolo will get some game time before he leaves.

Totally unprofessional and it could end up putting a serious dent in his career. I love the bloke but if he's taken a fat stripper then he's stupid. There are so many grey areas regarding these supplements, in the army we were always told to avoid them. Most of them either don't work or if they do tend to have something dodgy in them. He should just adjust his diet and personal training.

Any supplements / pills taken should always be passed off by the medical staff 1st. Very simple.

Isn't it Rooney who liked the fat stripper?

Was it the Kolo game time comment that generated 9 disagrees? Would you chose Skrtle over him?
If it wasn't and the disagree was to the rest of my post, we it's just plain rediculous to be honest.

It's funny how things work, kolo was banned when at city for taking "diet pills" similar to what Sakho has reportedly taken and kolo now replaces him in the team for his time out.

Didnt Kolo take some tablets while at City, and was given a ban.

Kolo got a 6 month ban.

As much as I love Sakho, if he's found guilty of taking them without knowing the ban he deserves a long punishment. If he is found guilty of taking them knowing they are banned, he should never play for us again - in sporting terms, drugs cheat is unforgivable.
