Apparently Amorim has flew into London on a private jet to start talks with West Ham.

 2

22 Apr 2024 17:59:55
If Amorim goes to West Ham that just means we don't want him.

 10

22 Apr 2024 18:08:00
Carra saying Richard Hughes wants de zerbi. Don’t like Hughes already.

 8

22 Apr 2024 18:11:35
Surely his club would be apoplectic about this?
Have they still not got games left?

 3

22 Apr 2024 18:54:46
Who is on the flight tracker?

 0

22 Apr 2024 19:07:13
He’s probably seen the FSG transfer budget and thought I’m off to an ambitious club owner.

22 Apr 2024 19:37:24
Carra is an imbecile at the best of times. Let’s hope he’s as wrong about this as he is most other things. De Zerbi would be a disaster.

22 Apr 2024 19:39:10
Alonso and Amorim were my first choice. I’ll be honest, I’m not keen on De Zerbi or the other names mentioned. But I have a feeling that we might go with De Zerbi. Tactically he is very good, which you only have to see the brand of football they were playing before this season. And the way managers, not to mention players past and present speak about him. It’s his combative nature that I’m worried about. I will have to trust Edwards as he has brought in players not so favoured who turned out to be brilliant for us. If it is De Zerbi, maybe he will be the same.

 3

22 Apr 2024 19:57:28
Seems like a strange development. Perhaps part of the dance around conditions.

 3

22 Apr 2024 20:22:20
If we get De Zerbi I’m sure going to miss some posters next season and I’m sure YouTube will miss them also.

 5

22 Apr 2024 20:23:40
I’d be De Zerbi out from the start. Some people have no business being at the club, much like Diouff, Hodgson or Rodgers. De Zerbi would be a huge failure.

 3

22 Apr 2024 20:25:03
Tbh if Amorim is out of the frame, why not just take a punt on Stevie G, would rather him than a 3rd choice. Maybe Jose was at fulham yesterday as an advisor for Amorim but can't see em going for jose mouriniho.

 1

{Ed025's Note - seriously...Gerrard????..

 7

22 Apr 2024 20:25:47
If a manager prefers West Ham over Liverpool then there’s absolutely no way I would want him managing our club. Even contemplating West Ham over Liverpool would show that the person has no idea at all about what Liverpool is all about.

Not saying I necessarily believe the gossip about Amorim, more talking in general terms about a person’s suitability to manage our club.

 5

22 Apr 2024 20:50:06
It’s the lure of London
His wife is a designer I think so probably thinking about her business interests too

And - he may have more say in transfers at Wet Spam plus a bigger transfer budget.

22 Apr 2024 20:58:19
WDW if we’ve told Amorim we’re no longer interested in him as our first and are looking at other options (including failures like Kovac), then he has every right to look at any job he wants. Should he wait around for us to change our mind? To me it sounds like we might have messed him around or annoyed Sporting (again), both of which are very probable given our previous.

22 Apr 2024 21:19:56
It's hilarious how Victor takes assumptions and runs with them as facts. There's been nothing concrete regarding Amorim and Liverpool except for a couple of random Portuguese journalists and he's just made the jump to we've messes him around.

 2

22 Apr 2024 21:26:17
Jose special Mourinho was at the Fulham game, fuelling a bit of gossip on social media about being manager . I would have took a prime Jose. but think his time is done at top flight . I loved him years ago, him against the world etc but the man got results.

22 Apr 2024 21:56:30
The Sporting President reckons he can persuade Amorim to stay.
There’s usually something in it when they say that.

 1

22 Apr 2024 21:59:55
I wouldn’t call Ornstein a “random Portuguese journalist”, Thunderbird, he initially said that Amorim was our main choice after Alonso laughed at the possibility of becoming manager. Ornstein has now said Amorim is very unlikely that he will now join too which does raise questions as to IF that’s true, why would it be unlikely that one of the best young managers wouldn’t be in the frame. Also, Ed002 was the one who reported our self inflicted issues with Sporting after our unseemly business with Ugarte, so it’s not beyond the realms of probability that our poor relationship with Sporting would impact our ability to recruit Amorim. Also you may wish to take some English comprehension lessons as I didn’t state it as fact, I merely speculated. This is a rumours site after all.

If Jose was a electrician I’d rather sit in the dark than call him.

 1

{Ed025's Note - i do like a bit of light humour John.. :)

22 Apr 2024 22:11:43
That Klopp announcement was just the Start of the end 😂 years of protests and disappointment await.

 1

22 Apr 2024 22:29:21
Ornstein has never once said Amorim was our main choice, he's never stuck his neck on the line regarding any potential candidate being first choice. Another mistruth Viktor.

Hi Ed2 hope you are well.

What appears to be happening re our manager situation? Not sure if it's true that Amorim isn't our top target anymore and if so do you know who is/ could be. Is he being lined up by West Ham?

What reasons would there be for a change so close to the end of the season?

 0

{Ed002's Note - West Ham spoke to his agents but won't be changing coach immediately - and they do have other options.}

 5

22 Apr 2024 19:05:35
Could Jose M be a realistic option?

 0

{Ed025's Note - no..

 4

22 Apr 2024 22:04:03
I can’t imagine any self respecting Liverpool supporter would even remotely consider Mourinho as an appropriate appointment. His time is done, he can retire and stick to punditry and being Billy no mates when Fulham are playing at home.

Hi Ed002,

A lot of talk about managers and player management, but who would be your choice for LFC manager next season, and based on that, what tactics would you employ, and based on that, what transfer business would you do (including outs)?

Cheers; sorry for the long question - just always interested in your opinion and insight!

 1

{Ed002's Note - Arne Slot would be a good fit and is a very good coach and from the start he has looked a very good option.}

 5

22 Apr 2024 17:20:54
I know it will never happen but would give Bielsa a one year deal. Love to see what he'd do with our younger players and seems to get the best out of Nunez.

 1

22 Apr 2024 17:59:31
Purely twitter speculation based off him being in the crowd at our last game Ed002, but don’t suppose there is any chance of it being Mourinho?

 0

{Ed002's Note - Always a chance but I rather doubt it.}

 1

22 Apr 2024 20:30:38
I don’t think even Mourinho is so egotistical so as to not realise that he’d be as welcome as a fart in a crowded lift here. Surely even he gets we dislike him immensely. You don’t get to manage that lot at old toilet and turn up here for a pay day.

 2

22 Apr 2024 18:05:04
Ed002 - grateful of any insight you can give as you’ve said since the get go regarding Slot being a good option. What would we be expecting in terms of tactical set up and is he very much focused on coaching rather than the whole set up with transfers etc. Ten Haag was the best thing to come out of the Dutch league not long back and it’s not exactly worked out for him at United so it’s a little worrying.

 0

{Ed002's Note - Slot id perhaps not too dissimilar to Kloppp with the fast forward and press tactics. To me a good option, but we will see.}

22 Apr 2024 15:22:40
Hi Eds

So I'm seeing Ornstein is posting that Amorim is in talks with west ham and isn't likely to make our short list? . any updates on this please

This is becoming intolerable . I wish I didn't start following the new manager search and just waited to the end of the season!

Cheers.

 1

{Ed002's Note - West Ham have spoken with his agent but it strikes me as an umlikely move.}

 5

22 Apr 2024 18:08:02
I wonder if Smough has any leads on who our new manager might be.

 0

22 Apr 2024 15:17:41
Over on the old internet it’s being said Liverpool are no longer in for Amorim and West Ham want him. Who therefore are we goi g for Ed’s?

 0

{Ed002's Note - Ruben Amorim will still be first choice but the club and his agents could not come to any understanding. Kovac representatives have spoken with Liverpool. }

 3

22 Apr 2024 16:59:49
I hope that was a short conversation with Kovac’s agent. His time at Wolfsburg was a disaster and he fell out with almost the entire squad. Not someone suitable for the job.

 5

22 Apr 2024 17:17:21
Hi Ed 2

What kinds of things would they potentially disagree on? Is it transfers or salary etc?

 0

{Ed002's Note - Typically responsibilities - salary won’t be a problem but Klopp still being involved in the transfer decisions might be - not for the first time.}

 5

22 Apr 2024 17:35:47
Is there any new names that the club is considering? Other than the usual Amorim, De Zerbi or this Kovac guy. It doesn't look good if you're messing around with your preferred choice.

 1

22 Apr 2024 18:03:56
It would suck not to get Amorim in my view. Prefer him personally to Arne Slot.

But the proof will be in the pudding. Just hope the club gets it right.

 0

22 Apr 2024 18:17:34
Ed, can you expand on Klopp's continued involvement with transfers as a lame duck manager. Not surprising to hear this.

 0

{Ed002's Note - The targets are Hunter, Klopp and Fallows targets.}

 0

22 Apr 2024 18:26:16
Ed2. I am trying to understand this. I have previously asked why Klopp still has involvement in future transfer decisions, despite being on the way out. You informed me it’s because his opinion is valued. But, if we really wanted Amorim or another manager for that matter and this is causing problems in appointing them - then I’m scratching my head as to why Edwards and Hughes would allow that to continue. Wouldn’t common sense mean they would put a stop to that completely? I mean, great manager and legend he is, that is not in doubt. But talent spotting has reportedly never been his strong point. If I’m missing something here let me know because to me, it doesn’t make sense.

 0

{Ed002's Note - Edwards and to a lesser extent Hughes do not pick the players. Hunter and Fallows do.}

 1

22 Apr 2024 15:24:57
The usually reliable David Ornstein just said it looks unlikely Amorim ends up at Liverpool.

Back to the drawing board it is! Just please don’t be De Zerbi.

 5

22 Apr 2024 15:32:13
It's Alonso. Just said he is staying to get press off his back.

 3

22 Apr 2024 15:36:50
Hodgson coming home?

 3

22 Apr 2024 15:42:48
Time for a punt on Rafa at 66/ 1 odds?

 1

{Ed025's Note - terrible manager SR..

 2

22 Apr 2024 15:47:38
that whole article was weird. a short article surprising us with the link the west ham and then just 1 sentence stating he is unlikely to be preferred at liverpool without any justification. I am not saying he is wrong, but it is confusing. Anyway, I hope we get the right person for the job.

 1

22 Apr 2024 16:31:30
Got a bad feeling it will be De Zerbi. Hughes supposedly a big fan of his.

 1

22 Apr 2024 16:37:53
The pool of talent out there is shallow, and that’s being generous, if it’s not Alonso or Amorim then the only other remotely acceptable option is Slot. Beyond that every other potential candidate is awful.

 2

22 Apr 2024 17:02:14
Hope Hughes can keep his De Zerbi fanboyism to just that. De Zerbi would be an unmitigated disaster.

 0

{Ed025's Note - same here VV..

 0

22 Apr 2024 17:59:52
Mourhinio was at Fulham match just saying.

 0

22 Apr 2024 15:11:55
Ornstein saying Amorim to Liverpool looks unlikely, any idea who else Liverpool have on the list? Thanks.

 0

{Ed025's Note - maybe Arne Slot Nella, personally i hope its Sean Dyche mate.. :)

 3

22 Apr 2024 16:38:40
You can keep Dyche Ed. He is at least keeping you up in spite of the FA’s best efforts!?

 0

{Ed025's Note - the thing is VV is that the supporters dont want to watch hoofball every week mate, we are pathetic mate and he is a dinosaur and going down would taste sweeter than watching that crap every week..

 1

22 Apr 2024 16:49:48
Dyche not good enough for the under 12,s.

 0

{Ed025's Note - i agree Ted..

 0

22 Apr 2024 18:51:06
Not to be inflammatory Ed but how come Dyche hasn’t been getting pelters from the start?

Everton fans didn’t like Rafa’s football (really it was about him being former Liverpool boss, wasn’t it? ) but Dyche is even worse.

 0

{Ed025's Note - i suppose we were happy that he kept us in the PL Paisley as that was his main brief, we were hoping that with decent coaching we could move up and go forward, turns out that his ethos is to play defensively and hoof the ball up front where a lone striker with no support is supposed to score goals, very archaic and boring just like the fat Spanish waiter in fact, we dont have good players or money to spend mate so its not an easy gig, so its all about coaching and bringing youth through and those 2 are unable or too scared to do that, fans want to be entertained in the end and those 2 dinosaurs are not fit for purpose im afraid..
